Why mention refurbished PS4s? Are those counted by GFK? O_o
Edit : oh wait, that's not even GFK's numbers...

EH I tend to see it as one being a bigger beast which means the other isn't much of one, if both were equal then I'd imagine them both being beasts.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

In the UK they are close enough with lifetime numbers and this black friday they were neck and neck.
That's definitely not domination. It's a very competitive market that Microsoft are fighting hard for. Sony will be delighted with all the UK market share they've won back but that only brought them from being dominated in the UK last gen to winning by a reasonable margin.

Yeah but who's to say it;s always going to be like that this entire gen?, you say this for now to make them look neck and neck but I don't see it being that like every single eyar, every single month for the entire gen, one is just going to be a ebast and the other something of a beast but not by much.

I tend to speak about the present or the past. Otherwise it's just pure speculation. If you've a negative outlook then fair enough but for the UK and the US I can't see Microsoft not staying close because it's too big a market for them to give up. They're the last 2 major markets they're relevant in and I'll be damned if they give up on those too.
I honestly thought X1 would at least take the UK. During BF, Amazon UK had 2 XB1 SKU at 25+ places ahead of the nearest PS4 SKU during hourlies. Figured it would be Microsoft's highlight of their BF PR.

It's not that I have a negative outlook, I just see things as they are, when one has more than the other, when one is stronger, better in most ways then I see a clear winner, trying to say little Johnny who came in last place is also a winner is stretching things a bit. I don't see MS giving up either but I don't see them winning, if I saw them as outright winning then that would be me being over the top optomistic and not taking current events into account.

Comparison with last year
Hardware
Week 48, 2014
Xbox One - 108,678
PlayStation 4 - 108,087
Week 48, 2015
PlayStation 4 - 139,000 (+28.6%)
Xbox One - 134,000 (+23.3%)
I believe that US sales will favorite X1. Nevertheless both consoles are great! PS4 has the advantage in sales and performance but X1 has many great exclusives (so does ps4 ofcourse). I am totally happy with my X1 to be honest.
