Uh oh, Turkey, you messed up.

If they speak the truth about the aircraft entering Turkish airspace: not really, shooting it down would be completely in their right.

Turkish aircrafts and ships have been constantly crossing in Greek waters for decades, provoking Greece. Some have even reached the middle of the Aegean. This is simply not right, and Turkey might pay dearly for it.

PS: Not to mention Russia was simply looking for a reason to assault the region.

You clearly don't seem to be aware about what kind of alliance NATO is. NATO is a defensive alliance, not offensive. Sure, NATO countries can take on offensive measures if needed, but is in no way an offensive military alliance. Also, NATO didn't have any mutual defense treaties with Ukraine, something which you seem to have completely made up. Attacking NATO equals suicide, just admit it. NATO members could go as far as to start a genocide against Russians in former Russia occupied territories and Russia wouldn't do shit. Why? It's suicide.

Never said Ukraine was nato so stop making stuff up, they had signed a treatie and had sovereigntie guarentees for giving up their nukes.   Signiture on a paper means nothing.

Russia can nuke the whole world out of existance, nato nor anybody is doing shit to them.  Why its suicide.

No one is dying or starting a war over a few downed turkish airplanes.

You're saying nobody will start a war over attacking the biggest defensive military alliance in history, yet you say and are hoping Russia might start a war over a single jet which was shot down due to their fault. Do you realize how stupid the shit you're saying right now is?

And like you said: Russia using nukes would nuke the world out of existance, which is suicide. If you and I were having a fist fight, would you fight with me until one of us surrenders or would you kill me knowing that if you kill me you'd also die? You'd probably fight me until one of us surrenders, just like Russia would fight a NATO-Russian war until one surrenders or goes for the diplomatic solution.

Stupid, watch your tone buddy.  If you are ignorant of the facts go educate your self.

"We warn that every target posing a potential threat will be destroyed,” lieutenant general Sergey Rudskoy

Russia will fire and down turks when the see fit, West will bark loud and do nothing.

Russia can say a lot of shit, but I guess I'll repeat what I've said a hundred times already: Russia attacking the biggest military alliance in the history of mankind will lead to war. NATO countries not backing Turkey would lead to every treaty, alliance etc. between NATO countries to completely fall apart. Big dogs don't bark toward smaller dogs, they bite them.

[...]

Sure; remember WWII when everybody took up arms against Hitler, when he assimilated Austria, invaded Poland, Czechoslovakia? Even after the Allies declared war against Germany, they basically did nothing but defend.

Obama should definitely resign after this! C'mon man! Things are going crazy!

USA tells that russian jet was in Turkeys air 'for seconds'.Ten warnings, you say?

Warnings are given if an airplane within a certain range of Turkish territory starts heading for Turkish territory.

1. Information on pilots is different. I hope the guys are alive.

2. Ok. Then tell me who can make a decision to shoot down russian jet in 10 seconds? The command should be given to turkish pilots before thev volation then. Which again shows Turkey in a very strange light.

3. On the information we have in Russia, Turkish ministry defence don't gets on contact regarding the matter, even on the emergency lines.

They apparently have two checkpoints before you enter Turkish airspace. They start warning as you approach 10km and scramble jets at 5km. They only fire once you enter their territory but they could have had approval well before then.

This is an incredibly dumb move on the part of the turks. This will give Russia and other Syrian allies free reign to do as they will in Syria and the war crime of shooting down a parachuting pilot should obliterate any support the rebels in the region had. basically in one act of macho stupidity Turkey have helped ensure Assad to be more easily protected and ALL rebels bombed into oblivion, they have probably just signed death sentences for thousands of rebels they support. I also hope for their sake they are 110% correct that their airspace was really violated and that they can prove it beyond doubt and Turkish planes will need to immediately stop their accidental incursions over borders which are also frequent.

Why the fuck would they do this though?... Doesn't the US use their airspace all the time too?

US is allowed to, Russia isn't. And Turkey was done with Russia's bullshit, rightfully so.

What kind of bullshit was that?

An Su 24 can travel over 2000km/h (edit 1500km/h, it is the 24m not the 24's). lets make that 1000km/h for arguments sake.  10km is traveled in around 30 seconds at that speed. no way in hell would they be scrambling jets only at 5km. By the time the jets got in the air the su 24's would be long gone. reports on the turkish side say they traveled up to about 3 km's into turkish space if I read right. That means the ENTIRE incident including all warnings before opening fire was done in well under a minute.

Repeating violations of Turkish airspace.

I am sure Greece will be thrilled to know that Turkey is fine with them shooting down all the turkish jets that repeatedly violate their airspace.

If Greece decided to shoot down a Turkish airplane violating it's airspace then Turkey indeed has nothing to bitch about.
