Forums - Sony - Resistance 2 - Nearly 50GB Big!

^^Currently, it's 50gb for a dual-layer disc, 25gb for single-layer.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

^^^^It's foreseen capacity is 200GB with a 8 layer disc, which the Playstation3 can support with a firmware update.

Dam thats huge

I dont wanna be targget like anti-sony/ps3, but 50 gb for a game like Resistans?? i think is a little innecesary, you can make good, very good shooter with amazing graphics in less space than that. Game like MGS4 maybe really need that space, kojima said that weeks ago, RPG like final fantasy... lost odysey was in 4 dvds. More space doesnt mean more quality

Best Games/Serie of the Generation

Depeneds what the space is for. Could be to have a great deal of texture variety, for example, or uncompressed sound, or lots of levels, or multiple games (SP, Coop, MP). If they seperate 8 player coop is true then you've got what I suspect will be a larger than average SP campaign (one of the things I liked about RFOM vs Halo or GOW) with many levels plus a fairly decent completely seperate set of levels for coop plus the MP levels.

R&C loading was quick for very large levels. Faster than RFOM I thought so I think they've improved their engines load times each release so far.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Were are all of the insulting comments about how they are crappy devs, and they just ned to do more comperssion? This is good news. With time all PS3 Exclusive titles will start pushing the limits of the 50GB disc. I worte a piece about how Blu-ray was the most important thing for games this generation when I first joined this site, and with every generation of games within the PS3's life it will become more and more obvious.

Games like Uncharted, and Ratchet last year already showed the differance Blu-ray makes over what the 360 can do (albet) not without the aide of the oft downplayed Cell Processor. The ability to put so much more on the disc makes each level feel unique and alive. This factor will eventually force third parties to get the act together and utilize Blu-ray, and scale games back for DVD and 360 or be left out of the sales pie on the PS3.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

The first game had 7.1 PCM as a sound option, so I wouldn't be surprised of the second game has that option as well. Still - the first game measured in at something like 17gb total with that sound option, so they're definitely adding a TON of content if they're pushing 50.
