Forums - Nintendo - Full List of Nintendo developed retail games announced in 2015. Conclusion? Nintendo is done with 8th gen.

Is Nintendo finished with 3DS and Wii U after 2016?

Heck yeah!!! 182 71.37%

Naw mawn... 73 28.63%

Total:255

Nintendo doesn't own Next Level, Camelot, Grezzo, or Spike Chunsoft any more than they do Koei or Tantalus. So either Hyrule Warriors Legends and Twilight Princess HD (and probably some other third-party collaborations I'm forgetting) are omitted or your list ought to be even more barren than it already is.

I guess you aren't counting Pikmin 4 though. Fair enough, I guess? But if you aren't counting Pikmin 4 as having been announced in 2015 then it's weird that you're counting Star Fox and SMT x FE as having been announced prior to 2015.

Next Level Games only makes Nintendo games now that I know for sure, but I'll have to look up the rest.

They have a good working relationship. Nintendo doesn't own them. They're just as much a third-party developer as Tantalus is.

Spike Chunsoft (Mystery Dungeon) at the very least is certainly not a Nintendo pseudo-satellite.

You can be in denial for as long as you want, but all the signs point to the NX coming next year.

literally nothing points to that. Maybe some strange guys on vgchartz who don't have any economic sense but nothing else.

Literally nothing?  Except for the fact that the Wii U is selling terribly and Nintendo needs to replace it ASAP if they want to be making big profits again.  Also, Nintendo has just been producing shovelware recently for the Wii U to make fill up time for the NX launch.  And the fact that Square Enix said that Dragon Quest XI will be making its way to the NX, which has a release date planned for 2016.  Notice how Nintendo has kept quiet about any games being planned for late 2016 for Wii U and 3ds.  It's because there is nothing planned for that time, except for Zelda U which will most likely be cross-gen.  Everything for late 2016 will be on NX.  Nintendo also said that they would be announcing the NX next year and nowadays consoles come out the year they are announced typically, such as the PS4 and Xbox One which were released 9 and 6 months after they were announced respectively.  The NX will be announced early to mid-2016 and be released late 2016.  I could no go on for longer, but this is obvious bait and idc about discussing anymore.  I can understand being skeptical about the NX launch next year, but to say there is literally nothing which hits to it coming next year is kind of foolish.

Next Level is a signed on Nintendo 2nd party studio... I don't know about the others, or feel like looking it up. But due to that, they deserve to be on the list.

"The studio has been working solely on Nintendo games for a number of years, and told us in our interview last year that it "actually feels like" it is an official Nintendo second-party. Yet despite its run of Nintendo titles it is still officially an independent company, unlike subsidiaries such as Retro Studios and Monolith Soft."

They work together on a game-by-game basis. As far as I'm aware, Next Level can walk away at any time between games. They have no contractual obligation to stick around.

Pikmin 4 is not counted because it wasn't given a system. Could be a Wii U game, but could also be a NX title.

Hows this, we'll count Federation Force until they make a non Nintendo game. :L

lol. That's fair.

I couldn't find any real confirmation on whether or not Grezzo n Camelot are 2nd party, however the former has only ever made Nintendo games, while the latter has exclusively made Nintendo games for over 10 years, so I think Triforce Heroes and Ultra Smash are listable. Super Mystery Dungeon, yeah my bads, I just assumed it was Gamefreak's since they have a Pokemon game every year it seems. What a shame, it looked like the best game on that list after Fire Emblem, and now it can be said that they're charging $80 for it because it's only the game they put a lot of effort into.

This console has been a huge let down for many, but not for me. I am older and have 2 children so I cannot play as much as I used to. Because of that, I cannot afford or make time to buy every game that is released. The games that Nintendo have released on the Wii U have been some of the best in their series. Mario 3D, Smash, Mario Kart, Tropical Freeze and Pikmin 3 (to name a few) have been amazing games and I have enjoyed them tremendously. Seeing Nintendo continue to deliver and improve and make even more exciting these staples in their library is an impressive feat. Splatoon is just the cherry on top that just goes to show you that Nintedo is still the best at what they do - make extremely fun games easily accessible and broadly appealing. It sucks that the console had a short life and was nearly unsupported by 3rd parties, but it is the hand we were dealt. I look forward to Xenoblade, Star Fox and Zelda U and welcome the NX and the domination it will (hopefully) bring.

We need more VG users like us finding the positive and not dwelling on the negative. Just like I you I have 2 kids and enjoy life outside my house as well.

Nintendo is family console I don't understand why people can't expect that and appreciate it.
