Ugh, I should not be this hyped for the game this far from release.

What does that even mean? Shouldn't it be optional like Wind Waker?

Wind Waker's world isn't comparable to this one. Grass in other Zelda games grow in patches and are cut in patches. Zelda U's grass grows in fields and would assumedly be cut blade by blade. It literally wouldn't make sense in a world that looks and functions this similarly to real life. How do you even expect the cutting animation to look like? It doesn't fit.

They could have patches of tall grass you can cut.  But yeah, cutting the field grass would be kinda weird.

Good, that's a mechanic that should have been axed at least 10 years ago. You should still be able to cut the grass, but you shouldn't be rewarded for it with hearts or rupees, much like the way signs are handled. The satisfaction of interacting with a living environment is its own reward.

It would fit if the grass was taller than Link but if its shorter then I guess it would be kinda weird.

When huge open world is full of grass like this, I think there is no more point to cut grass in order to get rupees.

Lol at gameexplain turning that into a 10 minute analysis. Must be nice to have that as your "job." I guess we will get a two hour one from them when we get a 2 minute trailer.

I don't really take issue with the mechanic itself - I just think it is very out of place in a game with this kind of visual design.
