That is much more than cloud has been on Nintendo platforms. I don't know what the quality of the games have to do with anything.

Never seen Cloud causing such annoyance since the talk of it being the secret sauce for the X1, now it's the secret dlc sauce for the Wii-U?

He makes a cameo in Kingdom Hearts re:Coded for DS...
He might even make an appearance in Chain of Memories as well but I could be wrong...

This. lol. It's an exclusive contract just for Smash Bros. Just like how Snake was in Brawl. There's nothing more to it.

Oh to answer the OP, yes Cloud has been in several nintendo exclusive games as with other FF characters that were only on PS platforms.
