I'm not sure that I'd even use it, but it should be an option.

No voice act also removes strategy and consistent communication to your team. It also removes the whole social element to online multiplayer.
Replace the word "stop" with the word "keep" in the title and you pretty much have MY sentiments. All it would do is allow for griefing and I don't need that junk in my Nintendo IP.
Voice chat and not being limited to so few maps at a time would have added a lot to this game.

Mario Kart 8 was perfectly fine without Voice chat because it's a racing game, and we don't need to hear 11 other players voices online. But an online MULTIPLAYER not having voice chat?! At first I didn't mind it at first because the game was so much fun! But later after awhile it got boring because it was the same old thing.... Voice chat really helps making online multiplayer feel like new. I only play Splatoon once every 2 weeks just for 20 minutes then I get bored and play something else. Having no voice chat also made the mulitplayer stressful at times because you can't communicate with your teammates AT ALL. When I blast up in the air and come straight down, I get killed... this would be VERY useful for voice chat to help me "Hey protect me, I'm coming over to you!". I give Splatoon a 7 out of 10. If it had voice chat, I would give it a 9 out of 10. Nintendo really messed up by not putting voice chat. Shame.... |
Well this is not true at all, actually only small part of people were upset about that and majority of them isn't even Nintendo audience.
Personally I don't ever use voice chat in any game, but I realize that is problem for some people even those people are in vast minoroty.
Not sure how difficult it would be to have a toggle. So if you didn't want to hear dumb shit from people have it off, if you wanted to communicate strategy turn it on.
Heck even have it off by default if need be, just give people the choice.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:
