played ocarina of time ~20 years ago. 20 fps. was fine. enjoyed it. never even cared about framerate.

I lways think of this when this comes up.  We had "slow down" back in the day, but until about 2007 I never remember frame rate and obsessions about 30 or 60 FPS being a thing.

I'd be curious to know what the best games of the 80s and 90s ran at.

Well we have a reliable resource " Digital foundry ", couldn't people wait for this until DF came with some conclusion. For sure this game will look the same on every console (worst come worst it will be like AC Unity) but it will be fix on next patch, If you worry just wait for the goty version with all dlc.

Right when I read the bolded part, I knew that you were lying your ass off. It's not mindless shitting when it's completely justified. If anything Bethesda's games don't catch enough flak for being as buggy as they are.

Fucking this!

For way less problems than we get from Bethesda,we would be crucifying EA,Ubisoft,sony,microsoft,capcom,etc...

When it comes to Bethesda games, people selectively lower their standard to a point where anything is acceptable because "no one does games as open as bethesda".

Doesn't matter if the game looks and runs like shit, doesn't matter if the game is broken and barely playable in the first 6 months, doesn't matter if the only redeemable factor of their games is how mod-friendly they are and eventually "fans will fix everything".

If you think about it,people basically pay $60 for a rpg maker where they wait for a better fan-made content.

And GOD forbid if someone point that out 'cause "you're bullying the poor bethesda.".

Fallout 3, fallout new vegas, oblivion and skyrim still have bugs that will freeze the game or ruin playthroughs.

I suspect the reasoning why bethesda is gonna allow mods on consoles is because the fans will patch the game for 'em and they can charge a fee for the DLC/mods. Win/Win for bethesda and their fans will love 'em for it. It's honestly very clever of them.

Cue the game burning?

Sure... we'll do to the 5th gen of gaming what people did to Disco back in the late 70s...

I was thinking more Nazi era booking burning, but whatevz.

Bethesda games are meant to be played on a pc about a year after release once the mod community has had enough time to fix them.

+1.  This is exactly correct.

But I got it for $48 on Green Man gaming so I am fine playing it vanilla first.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

Well it's to early to say that since we don't know anything about the Xbox One version but I wouldn't be surprised, Bethesda has always been a PC developer first with Xbox second and PlayStation last. I said the same thing about CD Project Red and I was correct, it's pretty much expected with PC developers.

I have the Xbone version. It runs smooth and fine. My game froze one time in 15 hours right after closing a twitch broadcast. I saw one minor glitch where a bull spawned inside of a train car.

Doubt bugs and shoddy framerate will be exclusive to PS4

This right here.

And I will wait for reviews.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

Meh, I finished skyrim fine on PS3, the bugs just add to the kooky charm of Bethesda games.

The gameplay starts at 2:07 The start of the revolution :) Frame rate was so bad you had the option to shrink the image (add borders) to keep it playable.

The 486 was out though which ran it a lot better. This was Descent on a 486

No clue what the frame rate was, the poor image quality and screen tearing effectively hid the frame rate dips. Plus the hud cleverly takes up half of the screen. That game was awesome anyway.

Games were new and fresh, nobody cared about the frame rate.

Very sad for the people who are looking up for it. But the question is how will the reviewers react? Will they be neutral this time and give a fair review for broken game? No way fallout 3 deserved 90% on ps3 imo
