The gameplay starts at 2:07 The start of the revolution :) Frame rate was so bad you had the option to shrink the image (add borders) to keep it playable.
The 486 was out though which ran it a lot better. This was Descent on a 486

No clue what the frame rate was, the poor image quality and screen tearing effectively hid the frame rate dips. Plus the hud cleverly takes up half of the screen. That game was awesome anyway.
Games were new and fresh, nobody cared about the frame rate.
