Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Halo 5: Guardians sells more than $400 million (games and hardware)

Tagged games:

i guess we will have to wait for NPD to get a clear number of how this game actually sold. we know it did 150k in the UK first week, guess NPD will tell us most of what we need to know, since the USA and UK will be by far the two biggest markets for this game.

which means the game sales suck.

People have no idea what it sold digitally. Ms said its the bestselling game week 1 for Xbox store ever. So assuming it's on the lower end of the 10-20% range(got pulled from nowhere by the way) is nonsensical. For all we know it could be at 40%. Need u be reminded that digital gains market share everyday.

Halo would need to have pulled off something very differnt from other games that have launched the last past few years then.

Because other games of the same genre dont do 40% of sales as digital.

Its extremly unlikely that it sold that much digital. Basically its wishfull thinking.

I have 6 friends who all bought digitally so we could all play at exactly 11pm the night before release.  The trend will only grow and I bet it was massive for Halo because of that incentive.

Exactly, as I wrote in a post, if there are only commas and no "and," they are all adjectives describing the same object.

It may be gramatically incorrect but the intent is rather clear because they aren't doing themselves a favor by naming it the highest rated Xbox FPS "exclusive" when it is in fact the highest rated 2015 FPS "game" on any system which is the much greater honor.

Both versions of Destiny: TTK and Borderlands: Tales from the Borderlands were rated higher on metacritic.

But it sold less than other Halo's in the UK not counting digital which were surely large. Halo am dead.

Considering this doesn't include any information about how Halo 5 has sold, I'm going to assume you didn't actually read past the title.

I can't believe they didn't say how much xbox live user it generated in it's first week

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Well, xb1 usually generates about 100k per week, I think it's safe to say it sold 250 to 300k,
which adds up to 100m or 120m

Then maybe 4m copies of the game itself? 240m
I'm gunna say 330k consoles, Four point something million copies shipped..

And controllers and reqs and faceplates and the like should make up the rest.

Whats the ban count at for this thread?

OT: Congrats MS

Ya same for me and my 4 friends. All digital. And jrpgfan I was just saying that in my opinion 40% is the high end of the spectrum not that I think it's that high.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Some haters in this thread.  Good news for game industry.
