For my thoughts on the generation, I've been mostly pleased. I haven't come across that one amazing game, but I do feel like the overall quality has been good. I've never seen so many localizations and for someone with my niche tastes, it's so great to see the levels and production of studios like Gust, Chunsoft, Vanillaware, Nippon Ichi, Experience, Falcom, and Idea Factory has risen to more respectable levels.
PS4:
I've been enjoying it. I feel like it's pretty similar start wise to previous PS consoles. I do enjoy all of the social functions like Share Play, streaming, etc. I've really enjoyed a bunch of games (big and small), so I can't say I'm disappointed at all. With a lot of big games launching in the next year or so, I have a lot to look forward to.
Vita:
While the Vita hasn't gotten a big budget title since Freedom Wars, it still gets a lot of games that I'm interested in. Even moreso than the launch period that most people praise. While Persona 4 Golden is still my favorite game, I've greatly enjoyed so many other titles big and small (DanganRonpa, Neptunia, Tales, Demon Gaze, Ys, and Soul Sacrifice). While there's still no big Vita game on my radar, there are several games I'm excited for. The only lasting con for about the platform is the memory card format and its prices. While PS+ does allow me to delete game data once I complete them, it adds a wrench into the process. For the games I like, it's the top platform for me, although it's still behind the PSP and DS.
3DS:
I got my 3DS a couple of months into its life. I was sold on it for only 3 games, and was lucky enough to see all 3 localized (Code of Princess, Senran Kagura, and Bravely Default). While some games have exceeded my expectations (Dead or Alive and Fire Emblem), I was disappointed in some (SMTIV, Code of Princess, and Bravely Default). I'm catching up a bit in some of the recent releases I've missed (just got Soul Hackers on the sale, and I'm waiting on Persona Q), but the 3DS is in a pretty weird spot this gen too like the Vita. The support it gets is varied and I think 3rd party devs are carrying it. Still a couple of games in the pipe I'm hyped for, so I'll still be playing my 3DS (Bravely 2nd and FE: Fates especially).
Wii U:
I only got my own Wii U about a month ago. It's pretty much what I expected. It has a few gems but hasn't gotten a vast library. Bayonetta 2 is excellent and worth the price of admission.
