Different consoles.
Different genres.
Different histories.

But let's compare them....somehow.

hmm both have fox :D ?

Ratchet wins, not even a competition. I'm buying both, but I wouldn't buy a Wii U for Star Fox. If not for Ratchet, I'd only have a PS4 by now because Fallout 4 was announced.

I own both consoles, for the record. Star Fox will (I hope to god) be a better Star Fox game than the two aerial levels Ratchet will have, but that doesn't mean it's gonna come close to Insomniac's 14 years of practice with this series.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Ratchet and clank blows Star Fox Zero. It looks great, will play great (its not a rail shooter), will sell great, will help the movie and fans will like it a lot. There is no competition.

Considering Nintendo isn't on top of Sales, Ratchet and Clank will easily outsell Starfox, As for a better game Starfox. Its the great ancestor of video games much like Battletoads. Older gamers will prefer Starfox and new gamers will prefer Ratch and Clank.

Starfox for me, better characters, better themes, better history. RnC is just like everything else that releases these days. There good i enjoyed them but there no where near the quality of a Starfox game. Apart from Visuals and the PS popularlity Starfox in my eyes wins hands down, it has Arwings.

Not sure how Ratchet is just like anything else that releases but I'll move past that and assume you're just saying words.

That said, don't assume Ratchet wins sales just yet. The movie is going to have to be a big hit and Sony will actually have to cross-promote for that to happen; Star Fox will probably sell at least 1.5 million because of idiots like me buying it despite it not being a finished game. Ratchet hasn't sold that since 2009, and the only truly finished Ratchet games since the PS2 came out in 2007 and 2011. Given these factors and the fact that PS4 games don't necessarily sell on party identification alone (Tearaway Unfolded, LBP), I could easily see Fox winning the sales argument in the likely scenario that Sony fucks up the marketing. Hopefully they don't and the series takes off again, but I've been burned by Sony too much to assume they won't mess up. Here's hoping SFZero is finished, but I'm not holding my breath there either.

I'm way more hyped for Ratchet & Clank, and I honestly think it'll be the better game as well, but I'll probably pick up Star Fox down the line as well. Aside from the relativelly shoddy graphics, it does look okay.

From my understanding, isn't R&C a remake? Like, the story is going to be the same as the first one? If so, Star Fox. Even if not, Star Fox... if anything just because we haven't had a good console Star Fox in like 20 years.

As far as the story goes, it's a re-imagining. From what we've seen so far they're taking various characters, plot points, and worlds from the older games (particularly the first and third it seems), and are making changes to that older stuff and supplementing it with new ideas.

It's worth noting that a big reason for the bolded is that 2009 was the last time R&C got a proper traditional retail focused entry. The closest it's had since then was A4O in 2011 (a spin-off), and ITN (a short epilogue entry). I'd be quite surprised if the new R&C didn't outsell both.

Ignoring that though, i agree that which will win in sales it's clear cut. I'm personally expecting R&C to win in the end, but how well both do will depend a lot on how hard Sony and Nintendo push them, and how well they're received.

R&C looks exactly the way it should. The game is gorgeous, enough said. Star Fox Zero on the other hand was a great chance to reboot the franchise, adjust it to modern requirements and expectations and turn it into yet another massive Nintendo IP. Unfortunately what we have seen so far is disappointing even as a previous gen game. There is nothing appealing in what I've seen on Star Fox Instead of taking the IP back to the drawing board and giving us a totally new experience in the genre, they seem to be making more of the same.

So far this isn't even close and R&C is far ahead. When it comes to future sales it will be a massacre with Wii U vs PS4 and the R&C movie and all promotional gadgets. R&C can very soon be a massive IP, bigger than ever and Star Fox won't even come close.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Ratchet & Clank definitely looks better but I think Starfox will have better gameplay.
