You are making it sound like this was "GTA5" vs "Flower"

Why would Sony spend huge amounts of money on a super AAA game just to sell it at 40 bucks? Admit it, R&C is an average investment, they are just using that money in a good way. It even sounds more reasonable to think the game is a tie in for the movie and not the other way around

With graphics like that I doubt it's an average investment. The levels are all pretty huge as well and the physics/animations are top notch. Even the bosses have dance moves when you use that one weapon! Compared to Star Fox, the difference in budget and development time is pretty big yes. Also making movies of that animated quality is very expensive, so this isn't an average investment at all. But hey, I don't know the length of the upcoming R & C game, it might be very short. The movie and game are supposed to advertise each other. This isn't your usual movie tie-in game, those are usually terrible. The movie is based of the game, not the other way around.

Average investment in the game, not the movie. I bet more money will go to the movie(Movie is supposed to have 25 million in budget, not a huge amount anyways). Lets stop pretending this game has production costs as high as a pixar movie or an Uncharted game, since if it was like that, charging 40 bucks would make no sense.

Oh, and both the movie and this game (A re-imagining) are based on the series, not the movie on this particular game.

$25 million is a lot more than Star Fox will have. It's a game series, so the movie is based on the game(s). Did I say it had Uncharted budget? A R & C and Uncharted comparison would be equally ludicrous. If Sony thought they could get away with charging 60 bucks for this game they'd do it. They had no problem charging that for The Order 1866 which had barely any content.

Definitely Ratchet & Clank seems to be the better game, and it will definitely get the most sales.

R&C looks like what SF should be this generation and would be if it was on the PS4.What a shame.

Are they even in the same genre of games? Seems like their only similarity is they have an anthropomorphic dog-like hero.

both are reboots of their series

both have an similar art style

Ratchet's not a reboot though. Insomniac has stated time and again it's a retelling of the plot of the first game with some slight changes. In the gameplay footage of Planet Gaspar they even have Qwark narrating as if it's a documentary made well after the fact. The whole point was to remake the first game in such a way that it's not the black sheep of the series (like the first game is) so that new fans can go through game by game without struggle.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Ratchet and Clank. The game looks like the R&C game Insomniac always wanted while this new SF looks(I have never played SF so as someone completely clueless and new to it and based purely on the footage I've seen) like an indie game that gamers usually get for free when they subscribe to whatever premium subscription they are on.

R&C looks better and the one I will be buying for sure. I am not hyped for Starfox yet.

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

This isn't even a question for the masses. Ratchet and Clank easily.

The only reason this pole has 24% votes for Starfox is nostalgia... and how many nintendo hardcore fans are on this site.

If this pole was asked to random strangers on the streets, after seeing a short gameplay video of both, Im pretty sure the numbers would be much more heavily in favor of R & C.

Starfox will sell.... but mostly on nostalgia, not nessarly because the newest game is fantastic game worth owning.

I can imagine alot of people buying the game and getting dissapointed, meaning this might be the last starfox game they buy.
