Isn't the quality of the product most important?

And they seem to keep doing it over and over again |
Have you ever developed a game or worked on any project in general? Everything is given a schedule hell even political laws are often delayed, delays happen because of unseen issues that pop up.

It is. Delays commonly happen. The backlash is expected and justified each time a game is delayed. Asking others to not complain though? "Clutching at straws", "It's just 5 months", "delaying games doesn't mean they are incompetent", "This thread is nothing but a kneejerk reaction". I personally couldn't care less about the delay, but the OP is being demeaned to a baffling degree.
Announce a release window for an X game, delay it, get justified backlash. It's that simple.

The OP is completely out of whack. This is a mobile game, tied to a new account system. A delay in this has nothing to do with a delay in the usual sense, they follow completely different development cycles and are under such different teams than the usual games that OP really has no argument. To pretend as if Nintendo is incapable of completing a mobile game on time, let alone a AAA game, is taking something completely out of context and using it to judge the productivity of the company as a whole, when it doesn't make any sense to do that. The teams that work on AAA games probably barely even see the people working on the mobile games. This mobile game is more related to QoL than anything if we go by the latest investor's briefing. |
What do you mean I have no argument?... It is a delay of a Nintendo product.. Nintendo cant seem to release any products including the amiibo shortages. It speaks volumes about the productivity of the company... Wii U has been a disaster this year. And with nothing announced for next year why should I be optimistic? And even if they did announce something why should I trust them to deliver it on time?

What company doesn't have shortages? The PS4 suffered from shortages, as did the xbox one. Games are delayed all the time, look at what happened to The Last Guardian! What examples of things you were looking forward to were delayed, exactly? The company is overgoing a serious shift, Amiibos being the first obvious one. A lack of foresight in overwhelming demand says nothing about Nintendo's productivity. Next shift is the unified accounts and mobile games, this is new for them. So a 3 month delay on a mobile game, excuse me, is not the end of the world. This "news" tells us more about how little tolerance people will give Nintendo when something goes even mildly wrong. You have blown this out of proportion. And then people will say that Nintendo fans will defend Nintendo no matter what. You know what, maybe we're sick of this cycle of bashing Nintendo gets on just about ANYTHING. |
First of all I just want to let everyone know I am a nintendo fan. I have been a loyal fan since the 80s. Ive never owned a console that wasn't Nintendo. But when you say Nintendo is doing all these new things and thats why they cant release anything. In my opinion is not a good argument. They shouldnt have taken on all these projects if they couldnt complete them in a timely manner. And leaving people like me who only play Nintendo waiting for games.... Its bad for business and they might lose loyal fans like me who have been with them since the 80s.
Oh and examples of games.. Zelda the only game that was gonna move systems this holiday season. And then Starfox something that could have held me over to zelda... And yoshi wooly world which I think is crap and they have released but even that saw a long delay.
mobile games for nintendo is very sensitive topic. They have to design it properly so people still see a reason to buy a 3DS

This mobile game wasn't announced for people like you, and was mostly announced to investors. A delay in this mobile game has little to do with you. As for the other games, Nintendo rarely delays its games. Zelda U is new for them, they never made an open-world game before. Star Fox is an exception. What else is bothering you? |
Why do I need more when those were the only 2 games worth getting this holiday season?
To me it shows wisdom. To wait until the game is as good as it can be and then release it at that time. Nintendo needs to strive to be better than companies like Ubisoft who release shoddy games like Assasins Creed Unity before they are ready or WB with the shoddy Arkham Knight port.
