LUMIA WINDOWS PHONE SHIPMENTS: 5.8 million

Thus is just disappointing, it got really close to ten million in the equivalent quarter back in 2013, I'll try to dig up the numbers.

It is the quarter prior to a major revision/release of both hardware and OS. it was always going to be down.

It just feel disappointing, the 940 and the 640 (XL) were both released earlier this year, and the 640 (XL) was a rather good budget proposition.

I'll wait until Q4 2015 figures, Q4 2014 was 10.5 million shipped.

Lumias, or now WP are a lost cause.

Dosen´t matter how good their are or how much great value they add it just can´t compeat in install base so, there is no good volume of apps available.

Universal Apps are a last hope, but I´m ceptical.

just like they were not able to turn surface around?

yes windows 10 mobile and universal apps + uniq feature devices are the last chance for wp
but this is still a decent to good chance.

windows mobile won't become a billion divice bussines, but 100m+ each year is possible. no doubt

Stock surging after hours. $27bn added to the market cap of the company in less that one hour as of now.

You do know the difference between revenue and net income right? :)

So they wont even bother telling us xb1 shipments anymore? This thing must be a huge flop in MS's eyes if they cant even bother to say how much its selling.

imo MS stop sharing the numbers 'cause since X360 numbers are so small using the xbox family won't help to hide how behind Xone really is from PS4 in terms of shipments.

they "hide" them, because ms and shareholder only care pheripherally about xbox shipments. espcially after the new approach of the gaming segment
only internet fanboys, consolewarrior, gamer and some salesjunkies care about them.

ms care about people getting into theire ecosystem, using live, spend money on games and ohter stuff.
they just change the providing indicators. form xbox units number to xbox hardware revenue and xbox live users (xbox live user are not only xbox one and 360 user). they also provide game revenue and live revenue

that is so much more and better information for shareholder.
only people complain about that are the ones, who desperately want to compare units number with the competition
the only damn thing ms should have done is an operating income between the 4 subsegments in the more personal computing segment instead of lumping them together.

look at samsung. they don't give phone units numbers, no1 cares and every1 know they're doing very well. sometimes the promote salesmilestones, but its not the general performance indicator

It´s so annoying that MS won´t share shipment. I know it´s only relevant for console fans, but it´s information that they won´t loose anything by giving out.

I wonder how much the PS4/PS3/PSV/PC Minecraft sales contributed to the number.

Looks like we are going with the good old if you can't spin it don't show the shipping numbers approach.

So last year in the same quarter, xbox family shipped 2.4 million, with the 360 accounting for about 500k. This year, total xbox shipments should be down a bit, but XBO shipments should make up a larger part. I'd estimize 2.1-2.2 million combined, XBO @ 1.9 million.

I predicted Xbox shipment to be UP compared with last year... 2.5m.

But seems like they did worst than last year.

http://www.icxm.net/x/xbox-39-million-active-gamers.html x1 sold more than last year. That means it above 14 million. But I THINK its around 15.8 million -16 million.

Not this is assumption from this weird site.

They think the Xbone sold more than last year because the number of Xbox Live users increased lol
While that can be true it is perfectly possible to increase the number os Xbox Live users selling less consoles... one thing is not related to other.

XBOX shipments last quarter: 1.4 million. ( Estimate: 1.1m XB1 / 300k 360 )

XBOX shipments this quarter: ?

NPD XB1 sales last quarter: 623,000 [ 187k / 139k / 297k]

NPD XB1 sales this quarter: 672,000 [ 189k / 202k / 281k] ( +8% compared to last quarter )

You think XB1 has ship 1.9 million when it sold LESS THAN 700K in the US? How is even possible? You think MS has ship OVER 75% XB1 compared to last quarter when in the US they sold just 8% MORE?

Lat year XBOX total shipments was 2.4 million, most estimate has 1.7 million XB1 and 700k 360.

You think XB1 is up YOY this quarter in shipments? Did you forget last year XB1 is coming in many new countries?

XB1 is most likely under 1.5 million shipped this quarter. Probabily 1.3/1.4 million XB1 and 300/400k 360 for a total of 1.6 / 1.8 million XBOX shipped, way less than last year 2.4 million. That's probabily one of the reason for why MS didn't released any XBOX shipments this time.
