Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Does the removal of lingerie outfits from Fatal Frame in the West annoy you at all?

Oh, that is cool.  I'd rather have this than lingerie.  But I get the impression that it makes the game less scary.  So there.

Yeah it does kind of break immersion, but they are put in more for bonuses (and just to give a nod to the other Nintendo games that they were involved in.)  The Ayane bonus chapter is also there because of DOA being another Koei Tecmo game and could also be considered immersion breaking, but it is a side story.

But all these things are post game and I think you have to play the game several times to unlock anyways.

Yeah it annoys me. NoA doesn't treat their loyal fans very well. They don't want my money, apparently.

Are you saying loyal fans of NoA think like 13 year old boys?  There's YouTube for that.

I have no idea what that means, but I say give me the game as-is, but in English.   I'm a grown man who happens to enjoy Nintendo products and I don't need to be sheltered or protected.

Most kids aren't interested in Nintendo anymore anyway, they want tablet games, minecraft, my 11 yo nephew thinks HALO is the coolest game ever.  It seems to me at this point Nintendo doesn't even know their audience any more.  They're essentially trying to cater to a market that isn't there and dumping on the people that have been with them since the NES or heck even the game and watch days.

On the one hand, I can almost see the argument against censorship in this.

On the OTHER hand: "Oh darn, nerds won't be able to stare at polygonal representations of women wearing ridiculously impractical outfits while they fantasize about that being their girlfriend.".....somehow doesn't carry that much weight.

Yes, you can argue they should leave it in, and quit censoring things. But at the same time, taking those silly as fuck outfits out of this game does absolutely nothing to affect the gameplay or overall game experience.

So...*shrug*

that's true it doesn't really affect the experience, and to be honest I probably wouldn't waste my time unlocking different costumes I would just beat the main game and move on. To me it's the principle. I am a firm believer in voting with my dollars, so to me it's a NO vote on censorship and bad localization decisions.

I don't think it's an issue of being sheltered or protected, but more so appeasing the norms of the culture of a specific populace.  So you're a grown man so act like it.  The removal of lingerie is trivial at best.  Samus and Zelda are more Nintendo than lingerie is.  Obviously, you aren't enjoying Nintendo products enough.

Had they changed the color or design of a wall paper in the game, would many of you still scream censorship and cancel your non-existent pre-orders?

If I had a WiiU, this game would be mine.  But I get your point and appreciate it.

In this case. Yeah, it's dumb.
It's rated M anyways, so what's really the point?

In THAT particular case, I absolutely agree with Nintendo.
Here, no.

Do some of you guys not know what Google is?

If animated Asians in lingerie is that big of a deal to you, Google can help.

You are completely missing the point-   or maybe you posted to the wrong thread on accident
