Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Does the removal of lingerie outfits from Fatal Frame in the West annoy you at all?

Lol two people so far gave it a zero on metacritic cos it was censored. I mean jesus it's just a costume get a grip people. You wanna see cartoon chicks in bikinis Google it. The rest of us will base opinions based on how the game plays, looks etc

I think I will sleep just well at night knowing that...

The Zelda costume look way better than any of the other ones, so, no, It doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I see a lot of people using the words "censor" and "censorship". I'm not sure these are the correct words to use in this case. It was not a third party forcing Nintendo to remove these costumes. Nintendo did this on their own.

Personally, I would not play with these costumes. But it really seems like a waste of resources to remove these and add in another set of costumes. And I can see why people are upset about content being removed from the game. Really odd move on Nintendo's part. The game didn't even get a lower ESRB rating.

It is censorship. Regardless of the normal expected reasons. Nintendo censored some nude statues in Castlvania years ago. Same idiotic reasons now for this game. Worse when it's rated M. It be like bleeping cursing in a rated R movie.

Yes! I was looking forward to playing this game with a half naked girl. I'm so angry that I cancelled my preorder for this game!!

Just kidding! :P It doesn't bother me at all. Lingerie outfits don't fit so well into this kind of game imo.

When you do it to yourself, censorship is not the right word.  Maybe self-editting, or even self-censorship as Twintail points out.  It is an important distinction.  Free speech and censorship is a serious issue, so it is important to note that it was not an outside party forcing this change, but Nintendo themselves.

It's all because of the image Nintendo wants to have, I guess. Yeah there are some games like devils third that are mature, but nudity is not seen as good as killing people in a videogame, as absurd as it may sound.

I wouldn't mind having the option to play as a half naked woman in a horror game. Have you ever seen a horror movie before? How many half naked girls with big boobs are there? It might be something common in that genre, right? I don't see the scandal in any of this. And no, I don't think people would look at those as something sexy.

Come on, we all have smartphones and internet, porn is so easy to find nowadays, I don't think those costumes have anything to do with porn xD

It annoys me alot in fact, and don't go saying that, "It's a cultural thing!". Like hell it is, there are tons of American movies with sexual content way worse than what's in this game . As long as the game/movie is rated M/R, it is completely fine.
