If you could a lot would have to own up to hypocrisy of being against building a PC, this gens systems are already trying to emulate PC's via peripherals (which still aren't being used as the main input methods and never will) and architecture to boot and well plenty complain that they have to go through all the patches and the bad luggage they also emulated, I honestly don't see anyone upgrading their ram and it would create more hassle for the devs since consoles are essentially just a single build based on a single spec the creators made.

You're also forgetting the CPU and GPU which are already aged right out the gate, just upgrading the ram won't give a huge day/night boost to those systems alone.

Current gen consoles have a shitton of RAM compared to what the GPUs are capable of. In fact, I'd go as far as to say they have an abundance of RAM. This would also mess things up for developers, and thus would be an overall bad idea.

Thar would be great. But, for me, to be honest, the biggest problem was the hard drive. After i invested another 120 eur for a 2 tb drive, i enjoyed my ps4. Before it was a mess because i uninstalled everytime i returned from the shop with new games.
