It's a sale and Costco has low prices because of distribution and things like that. Doubt this will be permanent because .97 for Costco means they are clearing out stock

This, but expect a 299 console this year as a permenant change.

This is both a dumb idea for MS, and very, very, very unlikely.

 

Do you honestly think the Xbox One will be less than $200 in 2 years?

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I think costco is probably just trying to move inventory or keep it moving in light of the PS4 price drop and the xbox one's sudden drop in sales.

Holiday bundles are in the way, maybe even a mild hardware revision. They need to clear old stock.

The next xbox/playstation system will be out in 2018/2019. The 360/ps3 generation is the last generation to go past the 6 year mark.  Consoles this generation are relatively weak in comparison to ps3/360 when they were released.
