The main issue here is copyright issues, meaning that you can be sued for copying content, which is illegal. Does it happen? Yes. But does it often happen? No.. so though this is a big no acceptable, whether here on this site or elsewhere, not much is really done about it

A simple link is all you need to make it legal.

Simple. People don't come here for the primary function. More than likely if that was the reason they were here, they are gone by now. That's an excuse.

Really?  You think most people don't come here to talk numbers?  They seem to be the most active threads.

Well let's say they are. Talking about sales and such in a thread is very different than being actively here for VGC's numbers. I'm aware that there used to be a lot of threads complaining about it. But that's just it, they used to be complaints. People aren't coming here mainly for VGC's sales anymore. I was never actually referring to sales threads themselves.

The point is, those sales threads used to be far, far more active, when we actually got numbers on a regular basis.  People are still annoyed about it, some moved on to other sites, others simply think it, but feel like it's beating a dead horse.

@Dr.Henry_Killinger, generic-user-1

Regardless, it is still a really fine line you are walking on since a lot of news websites copyright infringement expands to redistribution and copying/pasting the articles so it still would be considered illegal

International law for internet is also a grey area, but copyright does include this so it doesn't really matter where you are, since you are taking information from a site that does have these rules.. :/

Well that's actually not the point here. The point is that issue and this issue are two seperate issues. Using one to justify another is just an excuse. Not folwing the rules isn't going to bring back the people that left because of VGC's sales issues.

Never justified either, did I?  Don't think I did.  What I did justify, is not putting in effort the sites owner doesn't even put in.  Plus, copying and pasting an article with proper sourcing is absolutely legal.  That's the point I'm making, and that's the part of the policy that I find absurd.  So no, I will not contribute to VGChartz in any way other than comments here and there, I will not be doing the job of the site staff for them.

And before you say it, my contribution comes in the form of not ad-blocking the site.

You justified putting in a complete article. You're literally justifying it here. I never said nor hinted it was illegal. I did, however, stress that it is against the rules.

I hate threads where people post a title and then just put a link to a article. I will not click it EVER. I browse on my phone a lot and links are the devil.

I prefer it when people post the important parts of the article and then comments about it. If the person posts the article with no comments I will usually respond by saying something along the lines off what was the point of this thread?

Yeah, it's against the rules, and I haven't done it, since the assinine rule was put in place.  If VGChartz wants to become less relevant, that's their perogative.   My posting those articles is for others, not for my information, clearly.

So yeah, I will absolutely justify posting an entire article, by people who's JOB it is, to write.  While sourcing said article.

PS. Sorry for the confusion, got you and Platina's comments mixed up.

What ever article you post or are talking about though, you should always and I mean always post the link to the article.

Sorry about my. Grammar but this site is pretty terrible to use on mobiles.
