| Kotastic said: This is going off of first impressions from looking at the trailer alone, and what I can convey out of it. So far, i'm still scratching my head what is the deal with SMT x FE to begin with, and why it's doing an abysmal job at trying to appeal an audience that has never played a Persona game or whatever like me. I got a lot of vibes from the first japanese trailer of fire emblem fates despite not understanding the language, and i'm not feeling it for this one. I'm sorry but i'm not going to bother watching a 45 minute nintendo treehouse video just so I can get a grasp of what's going on when my first impression of the game is just...urgh. I guess my problem with this game the most is how inaccessible it is and how misleading it is. In fact, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK5-EIzDtKo this got me more excited about the "crossover" than the current trailers. |
You do not have to watch the full Treehouse to understand what this game is about. You can't complain about not having enough information about something when there is in fact information out there and you just refuse to look into it. That's not how it works.
Furthermore, there is nothing misleading about this game. It was introduced as a crossover a long time ago, obviously very early in development, and underwent changes since then. Hence, the change of the name (no, it is not SMTxFE anymore). They've been very upfront with how this game is since the trailer back in April, and I can't believe that people are still trying to claim that they're misleading us, when that's not the case at all.
This isn't a traditional crossover in the sense of Project X Zone or Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright. It's more like Kingdom Hearts than anything, and it's about time people understand that. This isn't Fire Emblem. It's also not Shin Megami Tensei. However, it is a new game with gameplay elements and characters from those games. If Persona or anything like Persona isn't your thing, then you won't enjoy this game. And that's okay.
