Halo 2 had about the same size base the one has now, probably around 12-13 million. Halo 3 also didn't have a huge base to sell to in 07 as it was only around the 10-12 million sold worldwide at the time. 

Yeah, the Star Wars Bundle and the Black Ops Bundle, which of cause augres well for November.

What I believe has happened here is that MS thought they could straddle two months with the Halo Bundle. They thought they could take October late on and take November early on but I think they seriously underestimated the sales of the PS4 before the price drop. Perhaps if they could have somehow persuaded people to wait until the PGW to buy a PS4 then the strategy would have worked ...

Since tomorrow is September NPD and i need to back for the October NPD predictions thread, maybe those 2/3 days i can even comment in this thread...

It's not a very good sign that the flagship XB1 bundle is struggliing to stay in the top 20, especially this close to release.

You guys were right, that method wouldn't work. Tried using it for monthly and it failed horribly lol.

Good job for the halo 5 bundle getting in the top 20. But it's barely hanging on for the moment. The halo bundle has been the only decent Xbox seller on Amazon this month while the other bundles have basically been non existent in the top 100, except for briefly appearing in the 90 and 80 range then leaving again.

Considering it comes out tomorrow, I figured it'd be in top 10, maybe top 5 by now. And yet it's close to falling out of the top 20 already. Can't wait for October Npd. Going to be crazy if Sony actually manages to pull out a win in halo month.

I think Phil comments about PS4 price drop actually backfired. Maybe Sony was really going for the price drop at PGW. But after his comment Sony might have decided to go early in the US. And the part of his comment, that might really be killing things for Xbox One right now, was saying that they have something in place for when Sony drops the price. So people might be like "ok Sony dropped the price, let us wait for those amazing deals and price cut that MS is going to do as a response".

Considering they are marketing this and the LE as a way to play the game one week early I expected a greater bump.

These market tactics don't sit well with me as they are anti-consumer, and kind of enforce the previous notion that the Microsoft is taking an anti-consumer approach with the Xbox One. I could only hope that these practices backfire, and aren't the trend going forward.
