Forums - Gaming Discussion - Dracula X Chronicles screens - worst looking game on PSP?

Its not great, but its not awful either. If they would have stuck with a pure 2D engine, you can imagine how lovely things could look. Still - the DS games look better than that.

A pure 2D engine on the PSP's big screen certainly would have been beautiful...I don't know if the DS should be considered better though...it's down to a matter of opinion I think.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Well, I think this is a classic example of a game where graphical "power" just doesn't matter that much. I have played (and finished) both DS Castlevania games - and they both look a lot better than those shots.

How accurate those shots are... I can't comment. And it could still look nice in motion.

Here are some DS shots:

You are seriously saying those DS shots look better that the PSP ones ?You must change your glasses boy . As for the screenshots of the PSP version it is still in develpment ,in any case it looks quite good .We must not forget thats a 2.5D version of ROndo of Blood on the PC-Engine .The other game of the compilation is Symphony of the Night and that should remain unchanged or slightly better ...

Yeah, presumed its still in development. Look at those textures on the walls, ceiling, sky... ergh.  I think those DS shots are heaps better - although its hard to tell, as they are smaller.

Anyway - Im sure the PSP game will look good once its done.

I have to agree.  The PSP shots look a lot better.

Saying those DS screenshots looks better is one of the dumbest things I have heard in a long time. Are you color blind or something? Did you really look at the pics? Is it a joke??

Someone put up a side by side comparison.

Edit: Well ones 2d and the other is partially 3d so I don't if it is fair to compare.  What part of the graphics are in dispute here?

Ditto. The PSP's 3D for Castlevania doesn't look that nice at all in my opinion, but I don't think the DS would get anywhere close to the PSP'ss rendering capabilities for a similar game (hence the reason it's in 2D?).

I do think the DS version (2D) looks better overall, but I'm also sure if the PSP Castlevania was in 2D it would look nicer than the DS version - the PSP screen would simply overwhelm the DS's.

Well back on the original topic, I don't think this is a bad looking game.
