Tagged games:

I personally was under the assumption that Microsoft would continue to stockpile on new IP just like they did with the early days of the Xbox 360. Sure, we have games like Sunset Overdrive and Ori and the Blind Forest, but we need more of these games to come out such as Scalebound.

On that note of IP, why isn't Microsoft expanding their pre-existing IP from the 360 days? For example, why not Shadow Complex 2? Lost Odyssey 2? Last Remnant 2? Were these games below the line in terms of selling power? Were priories shifted to something else? I am not sure what are the issues now, but I do hope Microsoft can get back to the early era 360 days and make games in house as opposed to second and third party development.

LOL

A 30 person team that did digital only games goes indie and everyone loses their minds. Meanwhile Sony Online entertainment exodus of 1500 employees and the gutting of Suckerpunch and Evolution is glossed over.

All we know is MS has Forza and Halo this holiday and Sony has nothing...for yet another year.

When did Infamous: Second Son cease to exist? Oh and MLB The Show, for those who like it? What quality new titles have MS' first party studios made up to now on X1 aside from Forza 5 & 6? I can't think of any.

According to TC, Suckerpunch and Sony San Diego are Infamous/MLB slaves. Neither is a new IP and Sony doen't own the latter. Despite the fact people may enjoy them, they don't count. In fact we can also discount Uncharted/TLoU, Killzone : SF, any god of war or Gran Turismo that may be announced, the last guardian (it's Ico 3) Gravity Rush 2 since they aren't new IP. Anything built for a VR headset like SCE Cambridge or SCE Londons game or Northwest Studios gam also doesn't count.

Since it's first party only we can't count games developed by non-owned entities, so The Order, Bloodborne, Until Dawn don't count.

So.

Sonys output thus far is

Driveclub - Killed the Studio

Knack

That's it.

Maybe looking ahead, you have a whopping 3 more in Dreams, Horizon and SCE Bends game, but little else.

Sorry, TC's rules.

I'm just talking about their studios. I think they own the IPs though, not 100% sure.

Hey I'll insert my opinion about the OP some time in the future but I was caught off guard by your profile picture.

HOW AMAZING IS THE NEW CHVRCHES ALBUM

Amazing enough for me to actually buy it instead of torrenting it

Srsly good stuff.

OT: I'll look forward to your opinion

OP, I am wondering what scores you'd give Nintendo and Sony first party? Just for comparisons sake.

Nintendo maybe a 6/10 and Sony a 6.5/10 (this is just off the top of my head, I'll have to dig to see what all their studios are doing)

Like I said, I only think they're slightly better.

You know something about gaming I will never, ever understand?

The idea that first-party games can only be enjoyed if they launch during the holiday season--which is actually the time when there is a total abundance of multi-platform games to play. It's like, "haha, keep your exclusives that launch when the schedule is light, because gaming doesn't matter between January and September!" Does that seem silly to anyone else?

Wat? nintendo and sony first party are slightly better? where do you live xD Nintendo>Sony>>>>>>>Microsoft, i'm sorry but micro is mostly shooters nothing special

I disagree, they're better but not much IMO

As for the shooter comment, that's completely untrue. Only shooter MS has is Halo and now they have Gears since they bought the IP.

Thanks for the thread TC
Forum has been boring, this is useful

Microsoft studios covers the big 4 .... FPS, Third person Action and shooter, Racing and fighting.

Microsoft can flex their $$$ with second party studios to fill in the gap left by third party multi-platform.

On Xbox One, we can see Crackdown 3, Scalebound, Quantum Break, Halo Wars 2 and Recore all could be release in 2016.
