720p and 30 fps is fine on 8th gen if its pushing a presentation well beyond the capabilities of last gen. There is more to graphics than resolution and frame rate. Anyhow, the only games doing 720p/30 fps on X1 are rare and poorly optimized. |
In what way Halo 5 is pushing a presentation "well beyond" the capabilities of last gen? The graphics are nothing to brag about to be honest.

You don't necessarily have to see it, though. I mean, do yourself a favor and ask yourself whether Halo 5 in its current form is possible on any last gen console.

Im asking you, how Halo 5 is "Well Beyond" the 7th Gen capabilities?
Im just quoting you.

60 fps with 1080p with these graphics at this scale is not possible on last gen hardware. And even if you take the lowest resolution that Halo 5 renders at, it is not possible to do so.

I'm willing to bet that it's at 1080p less than half the time (given it's constant 60fps framerate)
I definitely think 720p at 30fps with the same textures is possible on 360. I can't really say that about games like Arkham Knight, The Crew (with the same functionality), Bloodborne, Driveclub, Sunset Overdrive etc.

It will be higher than many last gen games most of the time which weren't often above 720p.
You can think whatever you want about the game but in no way is it possible on 360 because of the amount of ram used combined with what has to be computed. Add to this that areas are way wider and more "open" than Halo 4 was at any point. Yes, Halo 4 looked very good on 360 but it had to cut corners to do so.
Guess what: Even the 720p ugly looking Dead Rising 3 wouldn't even be remotely possible on last gen due to the stuff that is happening on the screen. It doesn't look good? Sure. But that doesn't mean that it is computationally so light that it would be possible on last-gen.

Because all those games you mentioned are already struggling to keep the 30fps in the current gen while Halo 5 is rendering double the amount of pixels per second of those games, is obviously impossible to move for last gen even at 720p, you suggest that it would be possible at 720p 30fps, well maybe, but that´s just not the same, there is huge amount of extra power you need for 60fps and the feel of the gameplay is heavily affected by that, and even then, I´m not that sure if would be able to run on a x360 at all because is not only textures, Halo 5 has a better lighting, better efects, more open areas and a more complex geometry than Halo 4.

That's 100% correct, I could've added Dead Rising onto my original comment, but I'm personally not seeing anything I have seen a previous Halo or Mass Effect like game do. It's perfectly fine, Halo 5 is going to be a great game, but it's fair to say that there's nothing super ahead of anything last gen. Uncharted 3 to 4 or Forza 4 - 6 (we don't count 5 xD) are clear generation defining jumps.

Well now that's just embarrassing my friend, You should probably check your statements before you make them xD
Bloodborne is the only one with subtle framerate issues but as you can see it doesn't drop that much at all.
