Forums - Nintendo - Possible NX Bundles.

As of late, more and more things have popped regarding NX based on actions from within and outside of Nintendo (restructuring and combining their development teams, both hardware and software, stores rebranding their seperate 3DS and Wii U sections into one Nintendo section.)

The Fusion concept for the a NX which unite Handheld with Console is looking more and more like a reality. So let's assume that the Fusion concept is actually true... how would a bundle look?

What price? What would the bundle contain?

Well if we're talking HH+Console. Il with the console being in the same neighborhood as Xbox One and PS4 in terms of power, we're talking a pretty big price.

The Wii U GamePad supposedly. costs around $100 to produce. And is the biggest piece of the pie that makes up the Wii U's production costs and price.

But with the NX Fusion, we're not talking just a tablet based controller that you can play games on while someone else watches TV, we're talking full fledged handheld qualities or components for the controller. And Nintendo's  current main handheld, the New 3DS, costs around $170 (regular)-$200 (XL), to produce, but a large part of that can be attributed to the 3D rendor which is meant for graphical purposes, and there's an alternative WITHOUT the rendor called the 2DS, which is now $70-100 cheaper!

And the New 3DS is a handheld that is in between the GameCube and Wii in terms of power. For this Fusion concept to work. the handheld-controller would have take a considerable leap in order to run the games smoothly.

Thankfully, Nintendo has the foundation and groundwork already laid out in the Wii U GamePad, however the GamePad's short battery life and inability to play games and function properly anywhere without the console being nearby is what forces it to fall short of a real handheld.

And if the tried integrating those aspects in the Wii U and it's GamePad right now, that would jack up the price even further, so it's understandable  why they could choose to wait for NX to pull this off, in which also buys them time to figure out how they'll make it work.

And that's where the bundles come in!!

We've seen many comments, arguments, and complaints (all for good reasoning) about why Nintendo doesn't just ditch the GamePad already and make the Pro Controller the main option for Wii U, which would in turn, drastically cut producton costs and bundle price, which would sell more units and make the console more profitable. However we've reached a point in the system's life where it would require too much resources, time, and money to change the styles of all the games on the system that make use of the Pad, (Splatoon, Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Super Mario Maker, etc.) and it's also a case of too little too.late.

But with NX, they'll have a fresh start. And what better way to sell multiple systems, than multiple bundles, and multiple options for the consumer! Just look at how much the 3DS is selling, with the XLs, regular sized editions, and 2DS. All of which have different price points that are affordable, ESPECIALLY the 2DS.

So without further ado, here are MY suggested NX bundles!

NX handheld standalone: Includes, just the handheld, a charger, and perhaps a game. For the price between $150-$200

NX Console standalone: Includes the console, with just the controller, it can be an upgraded Pro Controller,  maybe a game. And assuming it's (hopefully) in the same neighborhood as the PS4 and Xbox One in terms of power, it'll cost between $300-$350

NX Console + Handheld: The complete package! Console, with the handheld controller + a regular controller, for local multiplayer purposes, handheld charger, and a game, priced at $500. Yes, you read correctly, $500.

Since they would both share the same game library, features, and functionality. It will ultimately come down to.which one does the consumer want more?

Do you want the handheld because it's affordable and want to be able to play your games on the go?!

Do you want the console because you want to have a traditional console set up, and play games at home on your pretty HD TV?!

Or are you willing and daring enough to spend the big one so you can get the best of both worlds, simultaneously?!

It's the ultimate choice! It's the birthof a new era! It's the evolution of handheld and console gaming! And it's only on Nintendo NX!!

NOW YOU'RE PLAYING WITH POWER! NINTENDO POWER!

Don't Worry About It.

I think the handheld will be 200$ with a game and the console 300$ with a game and together 450$ with 2 games.

Too many hypothetical situations for the NX as of late. Is the Wii U really so boring that everyone on this site is stuck speculating on future hardware? Hardware we know absolutely nothing about... and won't know anything about for another 9 months...

How about we talk about the NX successor while we're at it?

can we get an NX prediction bundle? :p

EDIT: this was pretty well laid out though. Pretty good

The game that comes with the $500, console-handheld bundle will be Zelda Wii U. :p

It's not that the Wii U is boring by any means... it's just that the speculation, thought process, and predicting the unpredictable Nintendo... well... it's kind of fun! (For me at least.) :p

I like the bundles, but I'm not really sold on the colours the handheld NX comes in :-/

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

What colours are you hoping for?

I don't mind the black and red they've got for the New 3ds, but some more colours would certainly be nice.

I'd have bought a purple one if they offered it.

Man, we desperately need a Nintendo Direct to give us something else to talk about...

Not trying to bash your topic, OP. I actually thought what you said was pretty interesting. But man, Nintendo fans are obviously desperate for something else to discuss...
