This could be one of the worst slaps in the face of every 360/PS3 owner.

Or they are giving an option to PS3/360 owners who don't want to upgrade?

I know, right? Some comments in this thread make it seem like they're just angry at Activision. People are angry that they are releasing a gimped version for PS360 as bad move to people who will buy it so that AV shouldn't make the version for the PS360 at all. How would that be better in any way for previous gen owners??

At the end of the day, people need to get out of this nanny approach. AV is trying to make money, so they are releasing a product that they feel people will buy but not for extra development. It's up to Consumers to make their own judgement on whether the product is satisfactory to them.

Also, MP and Zombies probably make up 80% of hours played on the game. 5 Hour campaign with no real drive to replay(IMO of course)

Why they couldn't just ditch last gen is beyond me.

No campaign isn't going to be a deal breaker for a few million people that still use last gen consoles.

Zombies and multiplayer are the backbone of black ops, so I don't know why people are so angry. Plus you get black ops 1 which includes its own campaign, multiplayer, and zombies

My comment didn't really have much to do with the no SP thing, it was moreso just because we are two years in to this gen, the combined current gen install base by the time this launches will be 45 million or so, and that in general it's just time to move on from last gen (for developers).

I disagree, no release is worse. Especially when you consider a lot of people don't play the campaign and spend much of their time in multiplayer.

But there may be a few million people that haven't upgraded and still want CoD on last gen. CoD is one of those few IPs that still manages to sell solid numbers on last gen.

If demand is there for a last gen port and people will gladly take the money to do a last gen port, perhaps the port should be made.

Bottom line, if there was no demand it would have been cancelled. Like a Wii U port of CoD.

They are indeed, a really crappy option. This is not their attempt to give something for the fans on the older Gen, but to make a quick buck with minimal effort. And it amazes me how many people actually support this outright lazy approach from companies that could easily afford to give fans a proper game instead of a gimped one.

What would really sweeten the deal for this last gen port is that since this version just focuses on MP and Zombies, it should include BO1&2 and all MP & Zombie maps from them. I would definitely buy that.

Oh no!! Instead of not making a last gen version like other companies, Activision gives people without ps4/xbone an option!

if you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple

If you happen to like the offer, buy it. I'm pretty sure people would be fine paying less for just the multiplayer, zombies, and black ops 1
