I seem to be in the minority since I enjoyed FF10, FF12 & even FF13!

The similarity is a focus on medieval settings. That's about it.

A gem for sure. One of the better battle systems too.
| Soundwave said: I liked FF7 but after that it got way too much into "J-POP Backstreet Boys RPG" territory. I don't understand at all why Squaresoft thought that was a smart direction to go in. IX was good too, but it was the last one that was really free of that Boy Band/Pop Girl aesthetic. |
FF XII wasn't "Boy Band/Pop Girl" either.

The story may not be the best, but yeah, it was really, really fun to play and explore! |
Yeah I remember a boss that took hours to beat lol can't remember the name though.

This contradicts your whole thread since Bloodborne is apart of the souls series and is a PS4 exclusive that is better than any x1 game thus far.How can you hold that opinion if the typeof game you like so much is not even on the Xbox? if you thought so much of the style of gaming than it would make sense for you to prefer the console with that game as an exclusive.
As for this comparison.I disagree because FF4- are better games than any of the souls games even by today's standards.FF6 and FF7 are masterpieces and none of the souls games are masterpieces.

I didn't like it at all and thought it was annoying. The emo lead chracter, the weird anime based storyline/characters,off the wall cutscenes and above all the cringe worthy cutscenes/gameplay. This annoyed me to death. I miss the medieveal darkage theme setting. You going through castles, dugeons, villages, ect. There was enough story, but not too much and it wasn't annoying for the most part. It seems the only series that can match up to the classic Final Fantasy while being "modern" so to speak is the soul series. Anyone else agrees with me? |
Soul series is the modern Castlevania games, from, the environment, atmosphere, difficulty, setting, gameplay, puzzle, leveling, weapon etc, period. If you want you can compare FF games to Xenoblade Chronicles.

imo, I think titan fall, gears, halo and forza are better than bloodborne and the whole soul series. I like shooters/action and racing genre the most. Bloodborne still a great game.

Usually it's called by people who have no idea of the wideness of the modern anime offering and only to descibe moeshit, which is mostly not present is in the Final Fantasy series, except maybe in FFX-2 (but well, it's a spin-off).
I have a hard time understanding what you call "anime style". Please explain.
Also if you think sthe ouls series has a better setting and story than modern Final Fantasy, you are better off playing wRPGs.
