The potential for the platform that is the NX has a lot of strangeness to it, but this is sounding more like a blue ocean concept as previously mentioned

I don't think so at all. As far as "gimmicks" (I hate the new condescending use of that word) go, revolving bumpers isn't exaclty the most out there. Blue ocean means new audience. What new audience is there left to get. We know about them all already, and rotating bumpers isn't exactly going to send casuals in a tizzy. That's a core innovation.

Definitely agree here. Also a agree overall, but I also have a feeling there'll be more to this than what's explained. I think it will still be our audience, but stretch out a bit

Ok, after thinking about it this has SOOOOO much potential, with an accelerometer you could also use it to impress strenght in determinate actions...

Like, I don't think they are are selling the NX on its new bumpers the way they sold the Wii on motion controls or tried to sell the Wii U on the gamepad. I think this will be more like the PS4 touchpad, where it isn't the selling point, but a benefit. Only this will actually be utilized often and not ignored like the touchpad unfortunately mostly is.

Also, it means the end of this nightmare:

yep, I really would like to see a competitive shooting game on a console with this shoulder buttons since it would be amazing to switch weapons

Can't say I agree exactly, but what you're saying is what I feel is in the ballpark. I'm still trying find more solid thoughts for based on what they have said, given the information that's graduall become available

I'm getting tired of all these damn patents.. I just wish Nintendo would talk about the damn NX!

That's why it pissed me off when people say Nintendo hasn't utilized the gamepad, or when people say the 3DS makes poor use of the second screen, as if a game needs to suck you into an alternate dimention with over-the-top gamepad gimmicks in order to be useful.

I still maintain that Deus Ex Wii U makes the best use of the gamepad of any Wii U game, and it's just a map, inventory management, reading emails from the gamepad instead of the TV, and a hacking minigame. That's revolutionary in and of itself, and makes it hard to be excited about mankind divided knowing that stuff will be absent.

So you think the bumpers are a new system-selling gimmick?
