Well, as long as you're into Dragon Porn.
Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

I am a huge fan of the series. I have all the current books, and I have seen all the seasons thus far.
The first few seasons of Game of Thrones are quite true to the books, but as it progresses it has more deviations (lack of new characters etc.).
You are in for some thrills with the later seasons. Game of Thrones does not hold back.
I enjoy the fact that Game of Thrones is not predictable. Anyone has the potential to die.
I am a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings and other fantasy novels. I am also a huge fan of history.
I consider Game of Thrones to be a hybrid of Lord of the Rings esque fantasy combined with the violence and politics of the Romans (Spartacus TV series is a good example).

If you have read his Game of Thrones books, you may want to read his other books to just in case.

Love how many different vantage points and characters it can show every episode. Anybody else like this show? Also what do you dislike about it?

Where you in a coma in the last few years? lol

I think you mean HBO GO Also I edited my comment so please do so for when you quoted it. Didn't realize how late that happened |
Nah, I mean HBO Now.
HBO Go did not solve the problem of being about to watch HBO shows without having to pay for cable. In fact, that's not even why HBO Go exists; it exists so you can get what you pay for, on the go. But still, you have to pay for cable first in order to get HBO, and then you get HBO Go.
HBO Now, however, cuts out the need for cable. You can just pay $15 a month (I swear, I don't work for them lol) and watch their shows on your devices. Without needing Comcast, Time Warner, DirecTV, etc. This comic sums up why HBO Now exists.

| Faelco said: The TV series is good until the 4th season. The 5th season is bad : really different from the books, no politics at all, useless and ridiculous travels and actions from the main characters... GRRM doesn't seem happy about the changes, he complained on his blog about people writing to him about it, saying that he wasn't responsible for what happens in the series anymore. The manuscripts of the last books are already written IIRC and he is working on it again (he did too much PR and conventions for a while). I think it will be really different from the TV series (which consist only of boobs and dramatic deaths for buzz now), surely better, and I'm pretty sure the TV series viewers will have to read all the books one day if they want the true (and good) ending. |
Well, it's not like AFFC and ADWD weren't guilty on the whole "useless and ridiculous travels and actions" aspect. Though I admit it wasn't as bad as what we've got on the series. They wasted a perfectly good chance to actually improve on what Martin wrote.

As for casual TV viewers reading the books after they come out, forget it. Not going to happen. GoT became ASoIaF to popular culture. Even Harry Potter, which was absolutely massive before the films, was more or less later defined by the movies and their impressions.

That was amusing, but lots of spoilers though.
