I am also a huge fan of history. I consider Game of Thrones to be a hybrid of Lord of the Rings esque fantasy combined with the violence and politics of the Romans (Spartacus TV series is a good example). |
If you have read his Game of Thrones books, you may want to read his other books to just in case.
