Needed to be done. Almost all of their speedruns and levels can be remade with SMM. There is no need for illegal means anymore.

You can't.. The glitches arent there and there is a severe lack of special blocks. Its impossible.

This really is another stupid movie, attacking their community.

Its Nintendo so the usual sugarcoating will happen. Now if it was Actvision, Konami, EA or something like that ppl would be outraged and raging all over the internet.

I hate comments like these. Everyone is hating on Nintendo for this. Who is sugarcoating it?

Maybe it's to show them that they can do it using Super Mario Maker?

There are some things you can't do with SMM, but they are pretty trivial when it comes to making fun and interesting levels.

Ok.

You can read this thread just as well Xander.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Like the second comment on this thread is someone saying "it should be done cause with MM you can play these games now" or somehting along these lines, and there are other comments like that, and lots of ppl who share this opinion because Nintendo has a massive fanbase and built enought good will along the years that lots of ppl give them a pass even wen theyre totaly wrong.

On the polar oposite of the spectrum we have Actvision and EA, that whatever they do, even if its a minor ofense cause infinte internet outrage.

Owning the game and console does not mean you can emulate it. There is no legal way to play a copyrighted game with a third party emulator.

Are Game Copying Devices Illegal?

Yes. Game copiers enable users to illegally copy video game software onto floppy disks, writeable compact disks or the hard drive of a personal computer.

Emulators are legal in the U.S.

Correct.

While I do dislike their Youtube policy, and emulators are definitely legal...

Modifying copyrighted program (Though, depending on Terms of Service...) without explicit permission is generally considered illegal.

And for anyone saying 'Free advertisement for Nintendo's older titles', that... Isn't actually anyway beneficial in marketing term. Especially if it is in the form of version that is difficult to be legally obtained, and always purchased used.
