Does Nintendo's handhelds selling better really benefit you all that much?? I mean a Pokemon game on iOS/Android/Nintendo's Handheld could still be a $40 game as impressive as what an exclusive Pokemon would be. Not to mention more profits leading to higher dev budget. |
Not to be that guy, but no it absolutely would not. Mobile lacks the button interface that a console has, meaning the interface and control scheme will always be more clunky and more limited than a console or handheld would ever be, and since Gamefreak isn't run by idiots, this would lead to a signifigant simplification of the franchise to cope. The massive step forward expected with the next generation of Pokemon with an open world and real 3D exploration will absolutely never happen with the switch to mobile because games like that are an unpleasant nightmare to play without a complex system of buttons and analog sticks. That is exponentially made worse by the fact that Pokemon makes use of dual screen better than literally any other franchise, and that would be completely lost on mobile. Pokemon would be made aggressively worse on mobile, even if it remained big budget and high priced, which it wouldn't. It's not about Nintendo, it's about quality and progression.
IF THIS WORKS WITH GOOGLE GLASS, I can tell you TPCI, Nintendo and Google will become one company and rule the world because it would be Sick as f***

They are getting rid of Nintendo!?
Nintendo is actually doing this, they already said they will release some of their IPs on mobile devices, but those game will be completly new and made from zero to suit mobile phones.
OfCourse there still will be Pokemon main games for Nintendo hardware, I think this game to have good chance to end up on next Nintendo hardware.

Yeah I thought it was a little weird that Nintendo would be getting rid of themselves. They are 1/3rd owner of the company.
GAME FREAK is not even involved. It looks really silly. The wristband is ridiculous. Who in his right mind would wear that to go to work/school?

I don't think I'll ever give Pokemon Go a try, but I think it'll decent enough!

Kids. who are the people who mainly play on mobile phones...

wait for the CoroCoro scans of this moth, they said they would have talked more in detail about the slimy misterious Pokémon, and seeing this announcement, it isn't farfetch (:]) to think they would also announce Z, since the 15 of September the 4th episode of the MegaEvolution episodes is coming out, and I don't think they want to announce the new game with that (since Zygarde and the slimy pokémon are confirmed to be in the special...) <.<

If Z is all we get for the 20th anniversary I'd be kind of disappointed. Hoping for gen 7 really... |
Please, no. It's too early. I would prefer to wait for the new hardware.
