Not trying to single you out here but I will never understand why people feel this way. Like do you all have stocks in Nintendo?? Does Nintendo's handhelds selling better really benefit you all that much?? I mean a Pokemon game on iOS/Android/Nintendo's Handheld could still be a $40 game as impressive as what an exclusive Pokemon would be. Not to mention more profits leading to higher dev budget.

Not to be that guy, but no it absolutely would not. Mobile lacks the button interface that a console has, meaning the interface and control scheme will always be more clunky and more limited than a console or handheld would ever be, and since Gamefreak isn't run by idiots, this would lead to a signifigant simplification of the franchise to cope. The massive step forward expected with the next generation of Pokemon with an open world and real 3D exploration will absolutely never happen with the switch to mobile because games like that are an unpleasant nightmare to play without a complex system of buttons and analog sticks. That is exponentially made worse by the fact that Pokemon makes use of dual screen better than literally any other franchise, and that would be completely lost on mobile. Pokemon would be made aggressively worse on mobile, even if it remained big budget and high priced, which it wouldn't. It's not about Nintendo, it's about quality and progression.
