Yo - Just wondering how many people have encountered this problem (PS3 seems to work fine but it wont read any disc you put in). 

I had mine for a month and it did it to me... Sent it back to Sony, wondering how much time it'll take them to get me another one (or repair my "old" one).

If you encountered the same problem, drop a line. M curious to see if this is a big issue with the PS3.

No, didn't happen to me, I watched tons of blu-ray movies and played tons of games on it.

how you know its a lens problem ? just making shiet up aint yahh 1 post.

I got the 40GB model.

I'm guessing it's the lens as it can't read any discs but must admit that I have no idea...

To be honest, checked other forums (googled "PS3 can't discs" or something like that) and a lot came up. Wanted to check on VG as it seems to be a site representing PS, Wii and MS reather equally.

Still like my PS3 though, just want it back (bought a 360 when it came out and unsurprisingly and it RRDed on me though no such pbs since it came back, Wii, no probs yet)

but a can of compressed air and blow it into the drive. See if that works or else get one of those lens cleaning discs.

if those dont work, call Sony and warranty it

My freind bought a new ps3 from best buy and it could read the spiderman movie no problem but not assasins creed game. So he returned the game and got a new AC copy and had the same issue again. I couldn't figure it out at all...

LMAO vg repin PS/wii/MS equally, dude thats just uber priceless.

Maybe u just suck at owning high end electronics, i know people who i cant let touch any cell phone or camera cause if they do with in minutes there broken.

 I had ASS Creed, returned it after 3 days and got Uncharted.

I cant understand how they ever though that game was "finished"

My friend's PS3 just stopped reading discs. It works correctly except for that.
He's getting a new one from Sony soon.
