Um... money? Average slary? GDP? Standard of living? Take your pick.

Well... Using PPP GDP I see that Russia is in top 5 for 2014... And Sweden is faaar behind and Denmark is even lower.
http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.PP.CD?order=wbapi_data_value_2014+wbapi_data_value+wbapi_data_value-last&sort=desc

And even on GDP without PPP methods, Russia is 10th, Sweden - 20th and Denmark is between Thailand and Malaysia.
http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.CD/countries?order=wbapi_data_value_2014+wbapi_data_value+wbapi_data_value-last&sort=desc

If you think GDP is best method to get the best country then you should move to China, man.

And if you speak about avg salary you shouldn't forget that the prices level and costs structure is very different over the world.
For example today in SPb benzin price is around 36 rub for 1 liter. And its rouhly 0.47 Euro/0.59 USD.
So you can't just compare numbers, you should consider other things too...

ehm you need to take per capita, not just gpd if you want to compare a big country with a small one...

and the russian numbers will take a huge hit 2015, they are very dependen on the oil price, and well thats gonna hurt this year.

oh and you should drive a european car in russia, or the higher gasoline use of your lada will out all the savings from cheaper gasoline.

money isnt the most important think anyway. denmark is a realy safe country with a solid social net and first class healthcare and education for everyone, thats in my opinion much more improtant than 2-5k more or less salary

Well... You don't know much about Russia it seems...

1. Yes, oil/gas prices will hit Russian GDP in 2015. But not as much as you think. In 2014 all the gas and oil produced in Russia was around 10% of it GDP. And only part of it is exported. So the hit won't be too big.

2. I meant gasolin АИ98 which is equivalent to yours 98-super. Bad gasoline quality is a thing of past in Russia.

3. Its lot more Fords and Toyotas in Russia nowadays then Ladas. And a LOT of them produced in Russia.

4. Russia is quite a safe country now. Basic medicine is free. School education is free (including books). High education is divided. YOu can pay money for your high education or you can try and compete and win free high education. If you do so you will get small money from government each month and if you're from another city - a room in a 'student campus'.

So... We're not perfect, I agree. But Russia isn't as bad for its people as it shown in Western media. If you want to discuss Russia and its place further - maybe we'll change thread to the old one of mine here: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=179695&page=1

1. its not just exports, the decline in oil and gas will hurt other sectors alot, because it sucks the liquidity out of the system.

and the rest of the ressource market is dieing too.

2. 98-super is the cheap gasoline in europe, the expensive stuff has 100+ octane but 98 is fine too, i dont know how you get the idea i was talking about bad gasoline quality in russia

3.  i dont know any russian who wants a ford or toyota, its audi or BMW

4. you dont have to win anything in denmark and you get something around 800€ from the state. but well the danish people arent so smart, they have a lot of totaly useless education,i would argue russia invests the same amount if not more per capita in usefull higher education(stem fields, fine art, etc).

You mean why would he move from one very very rich country to another very very rich country, only wth more functional judicial, educational and social systems? Hm... That's a real mystery... In all seriousness, I'm set to move to Sweden in 2 years. It's like Denmark, but easier language.

Rich in terms of what exactly?

Um... money? Average slary? GDP? Standard of living? Take your pick.

Average salary depends on the amount of productive jobs, which declined in the US (and I could imagine in Denmark too) for the past two decades. Wages when asjusted were flat for the whole three decades, nevertheless it didn't prevent consumption from growing thanks to stimuli provided by ponzi scheme of cheap loans, sucking out liquidity from the rest of the world. As for the standard of living, depends on what you mean by that? I'd say this's salary + infrastructure, see above, same deal with declining investment in anything but final consumption. GDP as of now is rather meaningless macroeconomic indicator that consists of various overblown bubbles.

back to topic, the insane leader of turkey just started the ethnic cleansing in nothern iraq, so we will see a lot of kurdish refugees soon, not just from nothern iraq but from eastern turkey too, erdogans AKP is using SS methods to destroy the opposition in the kurdish lands in eastern turkey, burning down the buildings of the opposition is a possible way to win snap"elections" after all.

Worst thing is a lot of the trafficking out of the country is being done by people who are causing the conflict there, the worse they make the country right now the more money they can collect from people who want to be shoved into a shipping container... just means that traffickers have a reason to make more reasons to leave the country.

This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Alright, alright, guys, I think we can all agree Russia is a great and rich country where the sun shines on all the happy children and unicorns roam the countyside and all those rumors about it being cr*p in EVERYTHING except military strength have all been lies by the western media (and by everyone who's ever been there) and you'll love it there so much, guys. Unless you're gay. Or non-white. Or Ukrainian. Or non-Christian. Or the wrong type of Christian. Or curious. Or poor. Or handicapped. Or liberal. Or female. But except that, it's juuuuust fine.

Can we put this to rest now?

This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

since when are CIA agents and saudi princes fleeing to europe?

and it will not get better till we destroy every country that funds sunni extremism.(saudiarabia, qatar, VAE,and the turkish akp)  ohh and the US should fuckn stop training Al qaida guys or giving weapons to them.  Assad isnt a nice guy, but he doesnt cut of heads if you have the wrong religion, or beats you death if you are a girl and want to go to school.

Sheesh, those Europeans are governed by a bunch of fucking idiots. Their media is also run by a bunch of fucking idiots.
Or you could blame TPTB, seeing as I'd be called an anti-Semite if I did.

Solve the war before solving the refugee problem!

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Don't let them in, tell them to head south to their rich brothers in SudiaA Quatr and UAE.
