General psychology. Women are considered more in tune spiritually when we talk about most cultures, simple as that. It's a very basic explanation. If looked at in the scope of the OT, I'd argue it's even placed specifically to help put Luke's Dagobah hallucinations into perspective, but that's me reading too much into things as a writer. Either way, the explanation's legitimacy in canon is irrelevant because the hole's legitimacy in canon is irrelevant too. It's an anthill compared to other examples you could make if you really wanna get into plot holes. But if I could figure something like that out when I was like ten, safe bet is it's not too big an issue. I mean, shit, it's not like the plot was ever designed to work cohesively from movie to movie anyway, they were just made to sell and be enjoyed in the moment. Hence magical face turn for Vader in VI's final second despite any logical solution to the plot ending in some way that doesn't involve making your chosen hero look pathetic.
Mind you, again, I'm being extra harsh on the OT right now to make a point. I see them just as highly as I do the PT. I think the garbage I point out in the OT now is better than most of Anakin's shit in Ep III's second half, but only slightly (and mostly because they're isolated issues as opposed to a whole character). It's in the same way that I hate most games in the Sonic franchise because they're god awful but for some reason I keep playing them hoping the next is decent, except I actually enjoy Star Wars lol.
Lastly, Medichlorians was fine for me even if it's unnecessary. It feels cheap since it's never really used in any significant way, but the scientist in me likes some attempt at justifying it rather than leaving it a complete mystery. It could've been much worse; honestly I think Lucas created the Medichlorians to sell some sort of Magic 8 ball that would tell kids how much Force they had lol |
Haha that Magic 8 ball was certainly a missed opportunity.
At least the prequel's Jedi prophecy came true. Anakin did eventually kill the sith.
I do not hate the prequel trilogy mind you. I know it may have come across this way (as I can be quite critical). I do enjoy it for what it is, however there are issues that just seem like they could have easily have been avoided. R2D2 has freaking rocket boosters in the prequel trilogy to get out of difficult situations, yet failed to use this ability when it would have been quite useful in the original trilogy in certain situations. It just made R2D2 a part of the CGI gimmick. George Lucas was just flaunting what technology could do and in the process made R2D2 appear to be highly degraded in the future. I did like R2D2's introduction in episode 1 mind you, I thought that was neat. But yeah, the rocket boosters that followed in the subsequent films were unnecessary.
As you have stated... sadly Sonic has become a shell of himself. Maybe one day Sonic will be redeemed.
It's Jar Jar Abrams, I expect it to be terrible, so it can only surprise me.
I chose "not care."
In the end it's just a movie. It's a series I like, but still, only a movie.
If I like it, great! If I don't, well, then I've wasted 2000, maybe 2300 Yen at the cinema, but that's it.

I know it's proper to be negative on the internet, but I really, really hope that the Star Wars sequel trilogy is great.
It is unlikely that the sequel trilogy will be as bad as the prequels, because, from what we've seen, the sequel trilogy actually looks like Star Wars, not some fake, weird thing.
There's no way that the sequels will ever be as meaningful as the original series was, but I still deeply hope that it turns out to be great, and if it's terrible I will cry.
I hope it's as good as the prequels and I have full faith it will be. That second teaser was awesome!
I love watching Anakin's spiral to the darkside and Darth Sidious setting him up and everyone else with all the deception. Number 3 will always be my absolute favourite.

The stories and acting were both highly inferior to the originals. That's the main difference. Although personally I think the huge overuse of CGI probably had an effect too. That's something that Abrams had commented on at one point. The fact that the originals used models for most of it gave them a more believable look. I think the difference between these ships demonstrates that difference quite well:

cant be worse than those tbh
well it could be worse than the 3rd , which for all its flaws is a decent movie ( some might say even good )
I will always have the original, unedited three movies. Nothing can and will tarnish them so, I'm good.
I'd be pretty disappointed, but I have confidence that it will be a blast. Abrams made Star Trek more exciting than Star Wars, so I think he'll make Star Wars absolutely glorious. Retconning the EU was a good decision; the canon was a mess before and the narrative was too restrictive. Now we get to wonder what happens next rather than whinge about them getting things wrong from the books.
