Well you got super Mario 64, LoZ ocarina and DK64 so I guess its just rare and a few other 3rd party's that are missing

Nearly all of them (mainstream at least). Dreamcast-PS2-Gamecube-Xbox-Xbox360-Wii-PS3-PS4-Wii U.

No xbox1 yet.

The friends I knew went to PS2. Dreamcast was completely ignored. I only knew it existed. Because of all the Crazy Taxi/Sonic Adventure commercials running during Kids WB!. I was one of the few who had a Gamecube. 4 out of 10 friends had GC's. Most of them only had it for Smash. And I bought mine when Pokemon Col came out. And I'm the only one who never bought a PS2, in the gen run. So I never went near pretty much every other game series. One way, I was glad I never understood DDR, lol. Only two friends had Xbox. Gen 7. Most went to 360 and Wii, after that. The cost of PS3 screwed them for years.

My gaming history...

SNES (1997) --- N64 (1999) --- GameCube(2002) --- Xbox (2005) --- Xbox 360 (2006) Xbox One (2014)

Never owned a Sony console.

Hello World

PS2, I was too old for a GameCube when it came out... Over 14.

It feels odd seeing people say that they moved specifically from one system in a generation, specifically to another system in the next generation, specifically to another single console in the following generation.

I grew up this way:
NES + SNES -> N64 + PS1 -> Gamecube + Xbox + PS2 -> PS3 + 360 + (for a short time) Wii -> PS4 (relatively recent purchase) + PC

For handhelds, it was more like:
GBA -> DS + PSP -> 3DS + Vita

....

The path you described seemed pretty interesting to me and I decided to do my own as well...

I grew up this way:
C64 + Master System -> Amiga 500 + Genesis -> PS1 + Saturn + PC -> Dreamcast + PS2 + PC -> 360 + PS3 + IOS + PC -> IOS + PC (+ and in the future, PS4)
