Forums - Gaming - Konami: MGSV is Game of the Year and Talks MGS' Future

MGS without Kojima will hardly be MGS quality wise.
So that's actually not best news to the franchise, that has been SO highly acclaimed.

MGSV seems to have greatly raised the bar for the series, but Konami has said they aren't willing to spend much money on game development. So yeah, the next installments won't match MGSV and going back to linearity and being more restricted will be a huge step back unless they go remake the first two Metal Gears.

I have to say Konami does have some balls talking about new MGS so soon after the controversy. I thought they would take a few years before talking about it and survive with MGSV as much as they can.

Well I'd say there's a couple of other games out there that'll challenge MGS V. (Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 for example)

Certainly a Game of The Year contender, but to say it IS Game of The Year is arrogant as hell.

This.

I agree.

Expected too... I'm saying it will be that since last year after play Ground Zeroes.

My preload is ready.

I don't know what to expect without Kojima...

When it comes to game of the Year, it certainly seems like it has become the front-runner. I expect to win quite a handful of Game of the Year awards this year.

As for it's future, SNAKE! SNAKE! SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!!

At this point I can't trust konami with making new installments of the series, but I would welcome modern remakes of the original nes games with open arms.

Fallout 4 is gonna win more awards whether it deserves it or not.

They're totally going to make it an annual franchise aren't they.

Personally I would prefer remakes for the MSX games.
