Yes, he is the biggest douchebag on youtube so milions of people love it, is like the Justin Bieber of youtubers. And yes several horror games had way more success thanks to him because he screams like a retarded and people find it funny. At least this time the game looks interesting, because several games that were a success thanks to him were a pile of shit, so that´s something.

Several posters have claimed that popular Youtubers like Pewdiepie or Angry Joe have a minimal to nonexistent impact on the sales or exposure of games. Nobody is going to buy Until Dawn, a very cinematic game, after they just watched an entire let's play from it.

It can boost sales of other kind of games though, but to tell you the truth I don't want to see the demographic that watches pewdiepie on the Wii U. How anyone can watch more than a minute of his videos is beyond me.

Except for the fact that has multiple endings and where actions make a lasting impact for the remainder of the game, unlike another really popular cinematic-ish game, TWD, where if you watch one play through, you pretty much see them all with very small variations.

It's probably still true though. Even though Until Dawn has more variation built into the the choice system watching a full let's play is more of a disincentive to buying the game than an incentive.

All I played is the intro a couple of times. While it's very well done, I replayed it and the end result was exactly the same. I'm sure it's going to go in several directions once I play the real game. That's a problem B2S, Heavy Rain, and Indigo Prophecy. couldn't overcome.

The intro chapter cannot be changed. It's the past and is meant to be a tutorial. The doctor/psychiatrist tells you this after you finish the prologue that the past cannot be changed.

Many people find much of his content incredibly stupid yes, but that certainly doesn't mean he is a 'douchebag'. He found a way to entertain people and is now making millions doing what he loves. I don't understand why people always associate how much they personally like a person's content (it's not like he is actually being a dick to anyone) with what sort of person they are.
