It will fair better than everyone thought, but comparing it to Splatoon is too optimistic. Splatoon is the biggest surprise hit the WiiU is going to have, ever. Devil's Third will do well enough to get a moderate profit, but that's it.

Without any push from NOA it will likely fall by the wayside. Splatoon had a lot of push from all of Nintendo NOA included.

Nah. It won't be a hit in Japan, and it simply isn't as marketable. Also, its quality is surely lower than Splatoon.
Not like Itagaki games are known for lighting the charts on fire though.
I'm saying no, but I hope it ends up being a decent game once it's in the hands of those who buy it. It looks sketchy though....
