Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why are so many gamers not into Japanese games yet are in to Anime? :<

I can watch anime on the PS4 for free (with ads) via Cruncyroll so makes trying out bunch of shows very easy. Netflix also has a decent selection of anime as well. Games cost $40-60 so have to be more select in purchases.

Why are some gamers into PS4 but not XB1 and vice versa? Surely they are more similar than anime and Japanese games.

I like some animes but not Japanese games cause Japanese games feel dated to me, in terms of game mechanics, graphics and presentation and have cliche stories. There are exceptions, but this is true of most Japanese games.

You think people are into anime just because of profile pictures? Silly.
Anyway, they're different niches. Even if they look alike, have similar stories(they mostly don't), target the same demographic, it's expected different people will take a liking to each. Just like sports.

Most of Japanese games are rpg and i hate rpg genre

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Why do people love video games but not books?

Well, I like video games, anime and reading novels......

I stay away from Japanese culture period. I don't understand the hype, but then again many also don't understand the hype for western media so touche`.

Mostly because japanese games directly appealing to animu fanbase are either adaptations (meh) and harem moeshit, which is as loved as hated.

Psycho Pass or Ergo proxu fans would be attracted to Deux EX over Tales of franchise, for example. The japanese AAA scene is also extremely influenced by Final Fantasy and Resident Evil, which takes root into US movies more than japanese pop culture.

The games that would appeal the most directly to the animu fanbase would be Visual Novels, but they are not well known in the west and requires reading, which animu fans hate, or they would start reading manga lol.

I blame lolis and weeaboos, personally.

Why are people into Japanese cars but not Japanese women? They are the same.

They're gay? (not that Japanese cars and women are both gay, mind you, the first sentence)
