That article downright disgusts me, no offense to you Ka-Pi.

Why the Xbox One story is really interesting... The progress they've made and change that were force on them in order to compete with Sony is impressive.

Rather then simply becoming irrelevant like the WiiU, Microsoft actually adapted their consoles in order to fix their mistakes and appeal to gamers.

Microsoft has an amazing lineup for this Holiday, even if it is a click-bait article doesn't make it any less interesting.

Read my other posts in the thread, I've explained my problem with this article.

I disagree, the reason why we like and read video gaming article, it's because they are written by people that love and share our patient for our favorite hobby. The writer of this article obviously worth it with Microsoft bias and as a fan of the Xbox one. But, it was nice to see no Sony bashing and focus only from the Microsoft Xbox One point of view. I think your disgusts and problem with the article is the lack of mentioning Sony has an alternative but then again that was not the point of the article. Most video article are meant to be click-bait thats how they make their living and we should read these articles all articles knowing this is meant to attract viewers.

"Microsoft cemented it last week at Gamescom: you should really own an Xbox One if you give a hoot about high-quality console gaming."

I think any fans of Sony will have a problem with this sentence but in reality it's only a problem since you see the PS4 has the only option for High-quality console gaming and totally disregard Xbox One has an alternative.

Yea, I have to admit at least the writer didn't bash other consoles.  However, you have to admit.  This article reeks of amateurism.  I believe anyone could have pulled this article out of their ass in about 7 mins.

Yeah... no, but thanks for making this flattering assumption about me.

The reason we read video game articles is to inform ourselves about this hobby of ours, what's not the point of all of this is to have some journalist shamelessly trying to sell us something, even worse when he's trying to do that on (in this case) games and features that are not yet out and he thus hasn't even tested himself.

And sentences like "It’s time to buy into the Microsoft dream" are just cringeworthy and so out of place that it almost makes me feel like this article is a parody.

The goals of the articles is probably click-bait not journalism, nevertheless the article is based on facts from Microsoft current situation.

Nor amateurism but rather normal business practice.

Haha to call them journalist is a stretch, most of video gamers writer our still in high schoool, university and college with most of them that will never have any journalism training.

It's only Cringeworthy if you don't want to buy in the Microsoft dream and prefer the Sony or Nintendo offering. Let's face it most of us can't or wont own more then one console and must choose. Therefore you either buying in Sony or Microsoft deam (or PC & Nintendo). What do you think Phil Spencer and his team is trying to do, they are trying to sell you the XBox One "Dream", the dream right now is their strong 2015 holiday lineup and now a solid list of games for 2016. That's exactly what Microsoft is trying to do the moment any one buy's a Xbox one they buy into the Microsoft dream and hope that Microsoft delivers in the future.

No. Now is not the right time to get an Xbox One.

If you really want to get it then wait for Black Friday and their reduced price, free games and bundles.

Yep, Black Friday almost always has the best deals and it would be foolish not to wait a little longer till Black Friday.  If one waited this long to buy a XB1 then why the hell wouldn't they wait another month or so.

What's 50$ vs hours of entertainment hours. I think the same can be said for XB1 and PS4, you might save $50-100 by waiting for Black Friday. But, if you buy it now you will put in over 100 hours on the system, that's less then $1/hour. The purchase of a console in the first place is foolish since it's only meant has entertainment, therefore how much do you invest and value your entertainment. Paying $50 to upgrade to PS4 3-6 months before the holidays is well worth the entertainment dollars, I would say.

Don't you agree that his opinion is harmless though? People are reacting to this like the poor writer offended their mom.

Nah, the best time would be when they drop the price to $250.

What i'm asking myself, why backwards compatibility? It's Xbox 360 all over again. Deja vu.

I suppose you might be right.  Some reason I was thinking Black Friday around the corner but it is 107 days away.  So the bundles they have to offer now and the hours of entertainment would justify a purchase at this time.
