Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony says it’s ‘very likely’ more remasters are coming

I am okay with future remasters if they do one of two things:

A) The porting is given to an outside or lesser developer so that development resources aren't wasted (and Sony's already delay-prone studios aren't delayed even further). The remaster should then be offered at a bargain price or come in an expansive collection. So, no more God of War III: Remasters, please. I honestly think Sony could offer some unique and fun "remaster collections" if they would just put PS Classics on PS4. I think it would be really neat and fun if you could could get Crash Bandicoot with your copy of the Nathan Drake Collection.

B) They offer a completely unique and different experience, either with a completely new control scheme or completely new game play, so Tearaway Unfolded and the new Ratchet and Clank are exceptional by my standards, especially since both are offered at a more budget price of 40 dollars.

As a side note: please put PS Classics on PS4 Sony, please.

As awsome as the bolded would be, Activision holds the rights to Crash. Sony wouldn't be able to do anything with it. Not even as a PSone classic. I would love a totally redone Crash or just a brand new Crash altogether.  I completely agree with everything you've stated though.

I cannot think of a better example of bias of perspective than what you said about Sunset Overdrive and Infamous.

You said Sunset Overdrive didn't sell that well because of user base and consumer intrest but tha Infamous only did okay because of the quality of the game.

Infamous and Sunset Overdrive have metacritic scores that are one point apart and the user score for Infamous is actually higher than Sunset Overdrives.

To be honest, its Sony's fault Sunset Overdrive wasnt on the PS4. It would've sold much, much better. They fought them over the IP and lost a chance to let their fans play the game. Sony should've just allowed the game to be a third party title while enjoying the dollars they make back from publishing. Honestly, Xbox One gamers won out here because despite the ratings I found Sunset Overdrive to be much more interesting and fun.

But the point he was trying to make was ridiculous considering that the general consensus on both games was that they had about the same quality.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Really? Don't Sony still own the rights to the original Crash games?

Yeah, both games were similar but infamous at its true potential could've put a fun loving game like sunset overdrive to rest and it didnt. It's missing the flair that the old infamous games had. Tougher enemies, more powers and a combo system would've been awesome. Infamous takes itself seriously, and sunset overdrive doesnt. In fact it makes fun of itself and modern gaming tropes.

More games? Those bastards.

More games that can be played on PS4, you mean. Because this doesn't mean there are going to be more games. If anything, this means there are going to be less new games because teams that could be working on brand-new games are working on remastering old games instead.

Nope, Sony has started outsourcing their Remasters, neither GoW3 nor the Uncharted Collection are made by their original studios but instead studios that specialize on ports (Bluepoint Games) or teams nobody has ever heard about (Wholesale Algorithms).

As someone said, citation needed, and even if that's true, those teams could have worked on new games instead. Maybe the loss isn't that great but it's a loss nonetheless.

I'm sure they own the rights to the ones released on PSone. However, for Sony to re-release it again would require licensing from Activision since they have full total rights to the Crash franchise.

Ah, okay, I see.

Keep em coming... But I'd rather have PS2 Remasters / PS1 Ramakes... Like:

Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, Tomba!, Adventures of Lomax, ...

The Bitch is back! And better then ever! #BritneyReturns

SONY Bring them BACK for PS4 and VITA!

Here's a couple of articles on some confirmation of Activision's involvement with the series

Spyro is in the same boat Crash is in. I could of put the wiki article, but I figured you would look it up if you're interested.

Rogue Galaxy remaster please.

Never got to play it on PS2.

Edit: Along with Dark Cloud 1 and 2 :o!

That. I can't believe they didn't even get ports on ps3 as ps2 classics.
