Tell me one new IP that could sell this well on a userbase of 10 million?

It's the big gap in userbases that I'm refering to.

Destiny did over 2m first week, when PS4 sales were 11m. When X1 hit 10m, Destiny already sold over 2m units there as well.
Watch Dogs was at 3m when PS4 hit 10m
Titanfall was at 2.4m when X1 hit 10m

3 of the more overhyped games of gaming history, including the most expensive game ever made, and that kind of "new Ip" that does not give anything new to the table, 2 CoD clones and a GTA wannabe.

The thing is, Destiny is about 5 m on a console with 24m, Titanfall is 2.5m at the moment and not growing anymore, it has sold less than 100k this year. However Splatoon, a truly new concept that didn´t get any mainstream hype until 2 weeks before (not 2 years like the others) and with a tiny fraction of the marketing budget, is on its way to sell 3 milions or more on a console that will hardly reach 15 milions. Do the maths.

All I hear is excuses why this or that game doesn't count. I simply answered the question, which had no such constraints.

Promising new IPs are naturally being hyped. Splatoon was hyped as well. The difference is that Splatoon was only hyped by WiiU owners, while the other games mentioned were hyped by PS4 and X1 owners, who of course represent a lot more gamers. Bloodborne, Infamous 2, Sunset Overdrive, Forza 5 etc. didn't get any more hype. They are only mid-sized exclusives. Some sold better, some worse, but none of them broke any records. Neither did Splatoon.

So sales are what you want?
Better drop the idea that Splatoon in even a contender for the GOTG so.

Those games had huge marketing budgets for games on big userbases. No one in his right mind would have spent $500 million on a game for the Wii U...

That's doesn't really matter, fact remain that those games has sold over 1 million in a user base of under 10 million...

It does very much matter.

You're comparing games that aren't in the same league when it comes to marketing budgets. And the fact is that they stopped selling, they have terrible legs. Popular Nintendo games have some of the best legs in the industy. People aren't tired of them after 6 months because the games are unique. Titanfall is very much an obsolete game already. That's a design flaw.

The only games you can draw a comparison with are Vita games as the Wii U and Vita have similar userbases (in size).

And the facts remain that the userbase is far bigger now and the game isn't selling anymore. What I said is a fact.

The point was about a game that has sold 1 million in a 10 million userbase. Not if the game has legs or other thing.

No, the point was about a new game on a console like the Wii U (10 million after 3 years).

I thought it was self-evident what I meant.

But hey, if you want to compare a game that has a marketing budget of $500 million to a game that doesn't even have a total development cost of $20 million then be my guest... You seriously can't see the flaw in your logic?
