Forums - Nintendo - NX's most important gets: FFXV and FF7 remake

Greetings VGchartz,

Like you, I was pleasantly surprised to hear DQXI would be making its way to NX. Sounds awesome - and it sounds like a great way for NX to establish an early foothold in Japan. But it still feels like a half-measure for the NX. There's so much more yet to be done to really make the NX a success. Additionally, NX doesn't need just a foothold in Japan, it needs a global one.

Gaining home console market share in Japan is no doubt one of Nintendo's biggest objectives. Since lot of hopes and fears of console gaming in Japan are pegged on FFXV - even more so than DQXI, it's an obvious target Nintendo *should* have for the NX.

A Nintendo home console hasn't had a new, numbered entry to the FF series in over 20 years. I think Nintendo knows they're long overdue for changing that. And I don't think it's too late.  I think many Final Fantasy fans either have played FF games on the SNES and/or are Nintendo fans and because of that would eagerly welcome the chance to play FFXV on the NX - especially if it offered an experience on par with the PS4.

And what if NX also even scored FF7 remake as a launch title for NX? That would be a MAJOR homecoming for the series as FF7 was the first FF game not to be on a Nintendo system when it was first released. I remember having to decide between the N64 for Legend of Zelda or the PS1 for FF7. It was an exhausting choice for me as it was for many others.

Imagine if FF7 and the new Legend of Zelda were both launch titles for the NX, with FFXV confirmed on the way. This would not only be a major appeal for the NX in Japan - but globally for the millions of fans that were marooned by FF7 split from Nintendo years ago.

Assassin's Creed, Madden, Destiny, Call of Duty, and other triple A gets may be helpful to the NX -- but I doubt any of them would be as powerful as getting FFXV and FF7 remake.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Dragin Quest XI is being considered for NX, nothing is confirmed at this point.

Yes, agree with this .

Not even close to being most important. But even so, it means nothing for their console divisions, since those games would sell more on the handheld over there.

It would be amazing to get both

Well we know Nintendo...won't be surprised if they don't secure it.

Just like the WiiU is getting Project Cars!

It is but one stepping stone. One I think Nintendo will make sure is taken.

As in you think NX is still to weak to run FFXV + FF7 remake?

You want them as launch titles? But that means the NX won't release this decade, probably not a good idea to wait that long

I'm actually putting some faith in Square to release FF7 in late 2016. But I'm probably wrong...
