Sony offered more money than MS, seems pretty simple. Just like last gen MS offered more money.

Idk why this part would be surprising, why would eSports go on Xbone if the marketing deal is on PS4?

Naaa, they offered them a bigger install base. People really need to stop listening to Spencer's spin. Developers know where the money is coming from this generation and it's not from Sony's bank account it's from gamer's preferences. The gap is getting bigger every single day, every single week, every single month and every single year. Activision have just got common sense. MS just can't afford to offset those losses anymore and so Spencer has decided to spin his way out of it.

And others should really stop pretending to know more about the market than the head of one of the console companies. Its entertaining to read, but your logic doesnt really hold water.

If its such a given that PS4 has a higher userbase and thus will get more sales, theres no reason for Actvision to not take a deal with MS and try to improve sales there. Its not as if the Xbox deal ever slowed down PS CoD sales. Its still the top selling franchise everywhere.

Unless, of course, MS simply didnt make an offer, or made an offer that Sony simply outmatched. And no, a higher userbase isnt that offer.

Its hilarious reading these threads and seeing how hard it is for some to accept that Sony is spending a lot of money on all these deals.

They don't need to spend alot of money on these deals to give the devs incentive to make their game or content exclusive to the PS4. You're living up to your name with some of the things you post. You completely tucked your tail and ran in that other thread because of the flak you caught for your post.

I know, I know. When MS is buying up content or games and spending money it's massive amounts of money that would probably fund 20 games. When Sony does it, the deals probably cost them ten bucks. Again, it's entertaining to read, but doesn't really mesh with reality. Especially when it comes to a game like Call of Duty. Obviously the situation is very different for one of the random Japanese games most people don't care about.

Regarding the other thread, idk, I think I got one quote? I clicked on it when it was blue just to get rid of that and it's remained ever since. Furthermore, and most importantly, I said in the very post you're referencing that it would be my last post in the thread. So I am not sure how any future "flak" is relevant, but by all means, lets see more of your entertaining logic. Before I posted there were 2-3 or more posts basically saying Spencer was pandering to stupid people so there was really no point in trying to have any rational discussion in the thread.

I hope that helps.

And this is coming from the head of Xbox?

oh and Ryse, Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive weren't bought this gen?

Titanfall was flat out bought.

Sunset Overdrive and Ryse needed to be funded and MS stepped in.

You mean the same company who bought Minecraft ip for 2 billion dollars or the same company that is getting bundle deals and exclusives for Fifa and Madden? Yeah, that makes total sense.

Fella, they're getting turned away because they're getting beaten soundly by Sony. Spencer has said this to try and spin a negative for MS fans to follow and sure enough, they follow.

Activision will advertise who ever throws the most money at them. Which is fine, these deals dont stop people from buying CoD on their prefered platform.

Frankly, marketing deals with CoD isnt worthwhile for MS. Xbox has Halo, Gears, and CoD. Xbox is objectively the best platform for shooters and they are leaning on that.

It would cost MS more to moneyhat while it would cost Sony less. To the bolded part, you're exaggerating in the hopes that a sensible concept somehow becomes ridiculous all of a sudden. Very much like you did before.

You were quoted multiple times in that other thread but you didn't respond to any of it but except for one. After the very end of your reply "This thread is a joke already though with all the insults, Im out". You knew more than one person responded to your first post and you read those. Your first post in that thread showed exactly how rational you wanted to discuss things and other users responded to you in kind. Trillions sounds so rational of you.

Not surprised. I have played COD on both system and I found the same amount of bad and good players on both consoles. It's about skills.

Honestly I find the PlayStation crowd on CoD to be more casual. It's a rather noticeable distinction. I wonder how this will change with the competitive scene transition.

I have no doubts there are situations where it would cost MS more to get something than Sony. And vice versa. The idea that due to userbase difference Sony automatically gets some massive discount on deals though is just silly.

I was engaged with one user in that thread, and read his first reply. Didn't read any others, hope that helps. If you wanna discuss the other thread so much, maybe go to that thread? I think it's still going. I didn't leave that thread to discuss it in another.

I think developers are asking for more money than what MS is willing to pay, because they know MS got the money.

Sony can pay the minimum amount, and it will be a win/win because of marketshare and its sexiness.

So, the CoD deal is bad for MS because they have Halo and Gears? Then why have they had it for the entire past decade? Did they just now realize they were stupid to throw all that money to Activision?

Wow, such enlightenment, it took them only about 10 Callofduties to figure out that they shouldn't support it, it just happens to coincide with Sony obliterating them sales-wise.

Actually, I find that possible. That's Microsoft, always late to the party, trying to copy success. It took them years to kill Zune, why not take a decade to figure out that CoD deal is bad and trick Sony into paying a fortune to get saddled with it?

I'm saying at this moment I don't think the CoD marketing is important to MS. MS has a lot of money invested in games to push this holiday, Sony has no notable exclusives to push so they're leaning on multiplats. Sony needs to market something, why not CoD?

Does marketing CoD discourage people from playing CoD on the competitors platform? I don't think so. Does PS4 need the CoD marketing deal to succeed this holiday? No.

Anything MS does or doesn't do this gen seems to coincide with, "Sony obliterating them sales-wise." Even when MS does something good for consumers its interpreted as desperation. For example, I've never Sony fans so angry about BC even though that's always been great features in past Sony consoles.

I don't think the CoD marketing is a bad deal per se... but its obvious why Sony would REALLY want the CoD deal this holiday. Its an abysmal year for Sony 1st party, arguably the worst in a long time.

Seriously, still using Zune to make a point? Sony has been selling buildings, selling studios, and getting rid of divisions yet you're gonna mock MS for having failures? Hey, know where I can get a Vaio?
