Sorry, but until a source that say "XenoBlade has sold 420k in the US!" for me those numbers are nothing, and you can't say nothing to me.
So, let's go. Source for 420k in the US?

Doubting for the sake of doubting is not being prudent or wise. It's just being silly. Now as for proof, as I just pointed out the only source - the only one - is vgchartz. There are no NPD numbers. You go with the most accurate source available and that's what Vgchartz is in this instance. And it's not like this site gets numbers by throwing darts at a board. If anything the game is under tracked. Japan is at 200k confirmed. Nintendo hasn't given official shipment numbers too my knowledge, but has stated the game was significantly better received in the west than Japan. So no, given Vgchartz is the only source, it is the best source we have and the "point" that started this - Xenoblade missing NPD - is moot since NPD openly stated it wasn't going to be listed.
And the numbers make logical sense with the surrounding circumstances. The significantly greater push for Xenoblade Chronicles X and their confidence in it vs the first game, the speedier localization, all of this points to the original doing good enough to warrant a much larger focus. Frankly, doing significantly lower than 400k (say, 200k) doesn't jive with the surrounding reality as that is not a number that warrants any enhanced focus whatsoever. Even if you don't believe the specific ffigure, the 400k range makes sense. Anything much lower than that doesn't.
