I think the game looks quite stunning just with a resolution bump on PCSX2. With enhanced textures/lighting (along the lines of Windwaker HD) the game would probably look even better. It would also help build up hype for DQ XI on PS4. Possibly they can add the additional content that they added to the 3DS version as well.  I probably wouldn't get it, particularly because I bought the game twice (on PS2 and Android), but I can see the appeal of a Vita (540p)/PS4 (1080p)/PS3 (720p) version.

If they're going to port it to PS4 they might as well port it to VIta and PS3 as well. It's practically on everything else, and since XI is only releasing on PS4 it can help gather the DQ audience from Vita and PS3 to PS4 by teasing them with a VIII HD, but forcing them to buy XI only on PS4. 

I've wanted it on Vita forever! It's a dream of mine.
It'd be cool to have it on PS3/4 too. More people should have access to this gem

It would definitely be nice, but it's coming to 3DS so I don't really care either way as long as it comes West.

I´d love it. I´m still salty about the 3ds demaster. This game is so beautiful and the 3ds version really doesn´t do justice.

Same. I'm not a fan of how it looks on 3DS either. I'm sure they could've made it look a bit better than it does.

I think the limitation of the 3DS is the lower-resolution limits what they can do with polygon counts and texture quality. If, say the 3DS had a 480p capable screen, then I have no doubt it could look as good as the PS2 version, but the number of pixels that the 3DS' screen supports limits these other factors. Hopefully next-generation Nintendo's handheld has at least a qHD main screen.
