Best Zelda game since Ocarina of Time.
It fixes many things like the usage of an slingshoot, economy using ruppes, upgrades, shield usage, etc.
For example in Twilight Princess you get items you won't use after the dungeon you got, like Ball and Chain and Spinner. In this game, there are few items but all of them are well put to use the entire game.
Also, scenarios change during the progress of the game putting harder enemies, and finally an interesting boss battle (Ghirahim) since many games ago.
Very good dungeons, specially at the latest part of the game. Fun minigames, etc.

You should give a shoot, but hear my warning: don't expect a traditional Zelda game like Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. This way you will understand and enjoy the game.

While SS certainly has moments of brilliance, overall I would say I found it to be disappointing...
The motion controls when using the sword were engaging, if not occasionally tedious...
The motion controls when flying and swimming were just too much...
The world felt incredibly confined, more so even than Majora's Mask...
And collecting the light things or the tear drops or whatever they were called was horrific, and I didn't even mind that task all that much in Twilight Princess...
I know a lot of people loved the visuals of the game, but for me they just showed the limits of the Wii instead of pushing the Wii to its limits...

Have a nice day...

I thought it was a good game.

The only thing about it I disliked was the stamina meter, but everything about the game was alright, and I actually liked the motion controls.

I'd pick up Wind Waker over any 3D Zelda though, that's for sure.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

So, it innovated and changed the industry even more than OOT? Because, for a Zelda to be better than OOT, it would have to do that, since that's exactly what OOT did.

That doesn't make for a good Zelda. That makes for an important Zelda.

OoT (arguably) is the most important Zelda game of all time. Definitely not the best.

Some people put a premium on originality. OOT blazed trails in the dark where there were none. That is a million times more impressive imo than refinement.

i think it's a pretty decent Zelda game! It's definitely not the worst 3D Zelda game! That title would have to go to the one with the wolf.

For a first playthrough, if you can get into the story, the intro isn't bad at all, and definitely, most certainly absolutely not anywhere near as bad as Twilight Princess'.

Why do people hate Twilight Priness so much? It's my favorite Zelda game out there

Midna's Lament alone is better than SS

Skyward Sword is a great game. The story is the best in the zelda series, Zelda is more developed than ever before, grouse is the most dynamic character in the series, and ghirahim is a great villain. Its very experimental, and plays with the series' conventions. Like a boss battle taking place in a narrow hallway, or revisiting areas. Time shift stones make for some great puzzles and dungeons, and I love how one can switch between items without pausing. The silent areas are fresh, intense, and a lot of fun.

lastly, the part of the game where you lose all of your items and earn them back felt crazy original for a zelda game

I will agree the recurring boss fight is a little boring, but this is quickly made better when you use the Groosenator

Yeah, no idea about that - it's my favorite 3D Zelda as well, I especially appreciate combat and setting. And Midna is such a memorable companion.

Skyward sword is probably the only Zelda game that I have played that I didn't like... I thought the combat system with the motion controls was pretty horrible...
